Sorry to start another thread, but thought this might get lost in the older threads.

UConn Confirms Investigation Of Men's Basketball Team Following Allegations

However, this inquiry is unrelated and was not self-reported by UConn as a result of that scandal or the internal review, but rather reported to the NCAA from an external source.

Sources told The Courant the NCAA has already conducted roughly 100 hours of interviews with coaches, players and staffers, past and present, and other outside individuals. Those interviews have picked up in pace over the last week or so, and the inquiry includes the recruitment of at least three players, though not necessarily players who eventually came to UConn. The NCAA, which has not responded to a request for comment, compels interviewees not to comment.

It’s flat wrong that a state institution can keep this inquiry secret as long as they did.

This athletic department is rotten to the core. Credit to Stevens and Geno for rising above this inept mess.

She gave the athletic director a raise. You’ve got to be kidding me.

I wish it never came to light and stayed a secret until a decision was made.

This is after Herbst and Ollie were emphatic that we were running a clean program.

“Though necessarily not players that went to UConn”

Can also mean current players. FYI.

Glen Miller screwed up with Diallo.

So Ollie fired him and hoped it would just go away?

I suppose anything is possible but if that were to be the case then it should have been self reported.

Double secret probation on the way.

It’s a state institution. There should be transparency.

If there was more they would end up in these situations less often.

These things never stay secret as long as people hope. I am sure we will get a much clearer picture over the next couple days.

Really didn't think it could get any worse than it was.

We finished under .500 last season and we are at a weak 11-9 this year and yet we are getting investigated for recruiting violations. Anyone who says Ollie should remain after this season seriously needs to take a look at where our program is right now.

I mean ................

Im just guessing.

But that is the kind of player you sell your soul for.

The reasons for Millers departure have been various. Could some recruiting issues be part of it? Maybe. But thats absolute wild speculation and guessing based on Zero fact. Please let me be clear about that.

Anyone know what he means by immunity here? For the players who they've interviewed?

If we did not get them, then there was tampering connected with other schools as well.

Names that come to mind:

Diallo
Carey
MAL

Wishful thinking, but perhaps we are helping with a bigger investigation, and we broke the story because we will not be punished.

I think Chilleous and Killings, who are much more connected with the modern-day corrupt AAU model, are more guilty suspects than Glen Miller.

But let’s wait for the facts. We know it was recruiting related and that’s about it.
