Solo in a boot?

If Yaxel is not himself with limited mobility on defense, will May leave him in to play ? This is going to be interesting.
With perfect health, he'd be assigned to guard Karaban I'm assuming. If his ankle/knee is still gimpy, I can't imagine him chasing Karaban around screens all night. Who does he guard if he can't keep up with Karaban? Or maybe May deploys a zone and hopes he can't make 3's? But what if we do?

Yep, Solo starts no question. But Ross (and Stew) is going to be an enormous part of the rotation due to their size and athleticism and the redundancy of Solo and Braylon.
Our best lineups by the metrics, all had Mullins at SG and Stew or Ross at 3. Against Michigan those lineups also provide a better matchup. The Yaxel injury is much worse for Michigan than the Ball injury is for UConn.

It’s great news that Ball will play and better yet, start. This is no time to change the starting lineup and normal game substitutions if you can help it. Michigan has to be way more concerned about Lendeborg with an ankle AND knee and he was obviously much more hobbled during the game than Ball was.
May explained why he played in the second half Saturday but that was a big mistake to me.
Also, this is why it’s nice to have the first game Saturday. Every hour of rest can only be helpful.

I’m still amazed how many times, even in his worst games, Solo makes a critical play to get us a win. He’s had a subpar season but he has two injuries, so I give him a pass on the up and down play. I feel like he has a killer instinct and he plays with confidence even when things aren’t going well. He’s a winner and a critical component to this team.

Also, he has the coolest name in college basketball.

Latest status on Solo? I know he'll play but anything new about it today?

FWIW - the boys returned to the hotel around 2:45 and Solo walked from the bus into the hotel without a boot. Fingers crossed.
Was he limping?

Are you joking? Furphy has had no meaningful minutes this year and has looked shaky in garbage time.
Use the starter technique from MLB for the first 2-4 minutes.

Start Millender at the 1, Paunovic at the 2, Furphy at the 3, Koroma at the 4 and Elezaj at the 5.

Nothing to say of in scouting and will confuse Michigan off their initial game planning.

It’s a bold move Jibsey, let’s see if it pays off.

I'm thinking there may be a little Beli gamesmanship going on with the Ball injury - I'd expect him full steam ahead.
