When did we stop congratulating players when they are nationally recognized for their achievements?

These threads should be ruled by the old saying: "if you have nothing good to say then don't say anything at all". Just saying this isn't a thread for critique its just to notify all of us that we have a 'great' player on this squad getting national attention.

We really need the guy they actually voted for to show up from tonight through the Dance. Maybe it’s time?

Congrats on being on that list!

One thing I’ve noticed about him in the past, is that when he’s recognized as being a great player publicly like this, he usually plays well.

I really like and root for Solo, but he's shooting 40.5% overall and 30.7 from 3. Percentage wise from 3, compared to his teammates that take at least one 3 most games, he's 7th on the team. If you add Reibe to the mix he's 8th.

I wish he had built on what he did last year. He is better taking it to the paint, has had some good games and made some big time winning time shots, but he's really struggled this year.

I'm happy he made the list. It's great for his resume. But I'm very surprised.

I hope he proves during the BET and NCAAs that he belongs on that list. He and the team would benefit from that.
Totally agree. His shooting percentage this year does not warrant this type of recognition. Add on to that the defensive side of the ball and you really have to question his place on this list this year.

Another way to look at it is if we had last year's shooting Solo on this year's team or if we had one of the other players on this list this year at 2g vs Solo, we'd very likely be consensus #1.

Happy we have Solo as a Husky, but if we're being honest, he's not having the year we'd hoped for and certainly not having a year to realistically be in contention for best shooting guard in the country this year.
