Pretty sure Shabazz isn't French.

He's a professional with how many years of experience and he can't consistently pronounce a simple last name correctly?

And Verne had to get that last "can you believe this is the same team that lost to Louisville 81-48 a couple weeks ago?" in there at the end…..STFU Verne you said it 25 times in 2 games………Coach Oliver won't be happy with you!

seemed to be a thing with all of the TBS/CBS guys all weekend, Grant Hill, Steve Smith, and Clark Kellog were getting stuck pronouncing his name Fri & Sun.

Also heard a guy on the radio last night when taking my son back to school say he felt bad for MSU because it was such a "home game for UConn"…….don't know who the dips**t was but he also followed it up with this asanine statement….."I will bet if we look it up Shabazz Napier played more games in his career at MSG than he did in Hartford"……..

How do they allow these idiots to get on the airwaves?

Really like Verne, but got real sick of hearing this over & over & over & over again.
I lost count of how many times I yelled at the TV for him to STFU!!!

Let them mispronounce the name as often as they want - as long as they remember to call him CHAMPION after next week

Also "Terrence Samuels". That one drives me nuts. THERE IS NO "S" AT THE END OF HIS NAME...it's just "SAMUEL" It's not just a mispronunciation....it's just adding letters to a word. A very simple six letter word.

These guts get paid good money to do this....they should stop being so poor at the basics. All the have to do is read for crying out loud.

Well, the Amtrak does go from Hartford to Penn Station but Metro North obviously doesn't, those guys didn't read the press release all that carefully. They may have also been confused from a story about the old, (really old) days when UConn played in the tourney at the Garden when there was a train from campus (maybe the Depot?) to the Garden.

You motherf---ers just live to be offended, don't you?

I didn't notice the Napier pronunciation, but the way he pronounced DeAndre made me laugh once. I can't remember how he said it, but it was worth a chuckle.

I'm pretty sure Napier is a Scottish last name, despite the seemingly French -ier ending.

It beats him complaining about the grad transfer rule for the millionth time. I still don't understand why anyone has a problem with this whatsoever.

For some reason Digger also kept messing up his name and calling Giffey "G-fye"

But his name is French and that would be the correct pronunciation if Napier pronounced it that way. The guy is about 100 years old so cut him some slack. He looks like he has serious health issues.
