I've lost any respect I had left for the NCAA. Complete joke of an organization.
When did this happen? You mean you actually had some respect for them before this incident?! ;)

NCAA needs to investigate UNC, not every H.S. transcript in the country.

Sad thing is that every scout, coach and G.M. in America would advise this kid to spend the year under Larry Brown.

Wow, major blow to the AAC.

SMU and possibly us as top-10 teams would have really locked up the credibility of this new conference in its second year. Now, as is usually the case, it's going to fall primarily on us to carry the banner.

This picture almost made me throw up in my mouth.
I always get pissed when I see a picture of that little p*r*i*c*k. Gotta say it's 50/50 that I punch him if I ever meet the guy.

I really like that under KO we are only going after high character kids that are also committed to doing well in school as well as life/basketball career.

no kiddin, our boy Goodman firing off BS again.
Goodman and "firing" should be used in the same sentence, but with ESPN in the front, then firing and then Goodman! ;) How incompetent!

Don't really think it's fair to insinuate anything about his character based on a potential NCAA investigation/eligibility issues.

Not saying that SMU is doing this wrong, but given that Josiah Turner and Emmaneul Mudiay, they putting a lot of mileage into kids they can't get into school.

Not to go off on a tangent but we've had offers out to so many people that there's no way to know if this is true.

I don't believe a word of this: "I'm tired of seeing my mom struggle" stuff. There is more too it than that. Something else is going on, either academics stuff, an investigation, NCAA not going to let him be eligible, or people throwing money at him (agents or shoe company sponsors).

He knew all along that he would be delaying a paycheck for another year when he initially signed and committed to SMU. Now all of a sudden, he can't stand to see his mom struggle to make money. Nah, much more to the true story than this "sudden realization".

Five-star PGs to commit to Larry Brown at SMU: Josiah Turner and Emmanuel Mudiay. Five-star PGs to play for Larry Brown at SMU: _____.

Keith Frazier was a 5 star guard commit, McDonald's All American signee last season, though he didn't exactly light it up this past season @ SMU. Not a PG but still highly ranked.

SMU will still likely be the preseason pick to win the conference, they're returning everyone from last year's team and still added valuable pieces like Justin Martin.

Jesus, bad day for SMU. What's the investigation?

Jeff Goodman ‏@GoodmanESPN
Mudiay's camp is concerned of an ongoing NCAA investigation, source told ESPN. Huge hit for Larry Brown and SMU.

Never take anything Goodman says seriously. School is 1 month away at many places. NCAA investigations take years after formal notice.

Sure there is- you can look at the players that say yes and then make up your mind. Bet ya $1 they all fall into that category. Make it $50.

Mudiay has a crew of handlers around him. Someone offered him big money. It's as simple as that. Makes me wonder why more big players don't take this route.

True, but Luke Winn tweeted out something similar:

Luke Winn ‏@lukewinn
Stephane Mudiay said this was a recent decision and insisted that it was not the result of an NCAA investigation.

Based on the end of this article, it certainly seems like he already committed violations and was concearned it would turn into a worse version of what boatright went through. Guessing he already took some benefits and figured he wouldnt be able to play anyway this year so overseas was really his only viable option

You realize this has nothing to do with the NCAA right?

Do people only read 1 post in a thread and respond?

I hightly doubt its as simple as that. In Woj's article he said there are issues both academically and a possible investigation, if it was just about going to Europe and getting paid(nothing wrong with that), then why bother going through the process of getting admitted to SMU?

Yeah but after looking at the video in this thread college basketball is just a bus stop, and an 'inconvenience' to a certain extent. He is NBA ready and college is not necessary. So to get paid for that one year is understandable especially if his financial status warrants it.

Even if Ollie had him he would still would have an NBA mindset on an immediate level. Not to be negative on him, but doing well in school is secondary. However he's the exception.

One year player no matter what school he were to choose.
