They can still do a lot of damage without Mudiay but man that stinks. I'm going to go delete my thread about them getting a Vtech guard now. Sheesh.

Prime Prep is a school created by Deion Sanders. Kids become ineligible for many reasons but this wouldnt seem to be very suprising it if were true. Many kids coming out of this program have had issues in the past.

If anyone can sort this out its Larry Brown. Just got to wait and see.

But wow! I was looking forward to watch him going up against Boat and Purvis.

Jesus, bad day for SMU. What's the investigation?

Jeff Goodman ‏@GoodmanESPN
Mudiay's camp is concerned of an ongoing NCAA investigation, source told ESPN. Huge hit for Larry Brown and SMU.

Can't have the American winning back to back basketball titles. SMU was a legit threat, gotta blow them out of the water.

What was happening at SMU kind of seemed too good to be true and I guess it was. Forget SMU or the AAC, losing potentially the #1 pick in the draft to eligibility issues is a big blow to college basketball.

Sure is odd that a kid could be accepted to a school and already taking classes and yet be found academically ineligible.

I've lost any respect I had left for the NCAA. Complete joke of an organization.

1. "I was excited about going to SMU and playing college basketball for coach Brown and his staff and preparing for the NBA." ...
Mudiay 2: "But I was tired of seeing my mom struggle. And after sitting down with coach Brown and my family …"
Mudiay 3: "we decided that the best way for me to provide for my mom was to forgo college and pursue professional basketball opportunities."

Looks it was for $$ for his family, not NCAA related.

@lukewinn: Just talked with Emmanuel Mudiay's brother Stephane, and he gave me a statement from Emmanuel. Statement will be in following Tweets.

@lukewinn: 1. "I was excited about going to SMU and playing college basketball for coach Brown and his staff and preparing for the NBA." ...

@lukewinn: Mudiay 2: "But I was tired of seeing my mom struggle. And after sitting down with coach Brown and my family …"

@lukewinn: Mudiay 3: "we decided that the best way for me to provide for my mom was to forgo college and pursue professional basketball opportunities."

@lukewinn: Mudiay 4: "I am grateful for Prime Prep coach [Ray] Forsett for developing me into the player and man that I am … "

@lukewinn: Mudiay 5: "and I am also grateful for coach Brown's guidance and his support. This has nothing to do with my eligibility in any way."

@lukewinn: Stephane Mudiay said this was a recent decision and insisted that it was not the result of an NCAA investigation.
