I'm not kidding myself when I say it couldn't have been much worse. They could have lost to L'Ville, that's about the only thing that could have been worse. They were blown out by those powers W. Mich and Syracuse. They lost to USF. They choked at home against Temple. With our schedule and roster a bowl game should have been a given this year. Our program has gone from the BCS bowl to a punchline under his "leadership." He's been a disaster.

I love how not beating a top15 team in Louisville is the ONLY thing that could have gone worse. I suppose the following things aren't worse:

1) Losing to Pitt (as Va Tech did)
2) Letting Buffalo come back and beat us
3) Not getting a road win against Edsall and Maryland, while they had their starting QB on board.
4) Not collecting what is on paper as the top rated recruiting class we've ever had.

This board.......THIS BOARD!!!.....sometimes, I really don't understand this board. Has PP underachieved? Of course! As Flyer already pointed out, nobody on the board would say that PP has done a great job. But when people insist that everything is rotten in our fruit basket and that there is no hope for the future, I really feel like contacting a group of psychiatrists to begin prescribing treatment for the masses here...

This board is so reflective of what a typical Connecticut fan is, they want it all and right now. They used to boo Jim Calhoun. CT fans are fickle, UconnDan, the sooner you realize, the sooner you can let it go and just post away without getting frustrated. Coach p has accomplished a lot in terms of recruiting, but has not done well on the field. I liked the Don Brown hire, too bad he's gone. I love the Weist hiring, hopefully he'll actually call the plays, but as for Uconn fans that show up 20 minutes late and leave before the game is over, well, many of them post on this board, so....

Oh, I'm well aware of the "CT fan complex." I was (and still am) a Hartford Whaler fan, so I got to see a lot of it up front and personal. I remember a time when Patriots fans didn't exist in this state....that is, until they started winning Superbowls.

But I also feel like someone has to be the voice of reason against the constant belly-aching of the masses. Again, we underachieved. We should have won more than 5 games, and if anything, the Louisville game proves it. But my God, we act as if our team went 1-11 and we are at the bottom of the MAC conference! That team does not play at The Rent; they happen to reside quite a bit further up I-91...

I don't want it all. Unless you count getting back to a third tier bowl, calling a simple time out before the end of the first half, scoring an actual touchdown, on offense in the second half of a real football game, to be "it all".

Best.

You said it UCDan, winning, the uconn women's team packs the Gampel for every game, because they win. How many women's bball programs in the country can do that? Not too many. Winning cures everything, and can even get you a conference invite.

Cant wait to see Sio is the League. I could see him on special teams at first his frist year then busting though for a good career.
