That's awesome. I was going to go down there to watch but I'm stuck at a work conference. He has been at this 24/7 since the season ended. Paying huge dividends.

South Carolina DE Devin Taylor easily most impressive player today. UConn LB Sio Moore probably 2nd best.

Sio made money today!

He's considered a sleeper because he played at Connecticut.

"Sleeper" is a subjective term. I think they're using it to say he was originally projected in rounds 5-7 and he's worked his way up a few rounds.

Agreed. If he played for Alabama, USC or Notre Dame, I wonder if his initial projection would have been 5-7. But its all good, he's got the exposure and opportunity now.

Combine invites don't go out until late January

College football players in their final year of collegiate eligibility who have been selected to participate in the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine and whose college season has been completed (including championships and/or Bowl games), will be notified of their selection by Friday, December 28th, 2012. Invitations and instructions for completing the required registration will be sent to the player’s email address provided during their college pro day last Spring.

The NFL scouts every player as an individual. They don't care where you played, they care how you play.

My thought he ends up between the 3rd and 4th round. He not only can rush the passer which is huge in the league but he can cover as well.

Exactly. Just look at last years first round and second round. Players got drafted from schools like, Memphis, Appalachian State, North Alabama, Midwestern State, Utah State, and Marshall.

yep and you will see alot of them make an instant impact as a rookie like Bobby Wagner for the Seahawks, he was a second round pick from Utah State.

Jt, can you provide a link to the source, I don't doubt it, I'm just curious, there's a lot of info out on the web, thans for posting. If this is the case, I would think we would have heard something about our guys by now.

I found this for the 2012 combine, I'm guessing a similar timeframe would apply for 2013:

"While the NFL Combine itself won't publish the official list of the 2012 NFL Combine Invites until late January, ..... Invites for senior prospects go out December 30th for all players that have played in final game (bowl game). All other seniors will find out after their final game (bowl game). Juniors who have declared for the draft will find out their invite status on January 25th."

Has to be some other year. Every brown-nosed CT sportswriter will tell you there wasn't enough talent on this team to make a bowl game. Clearly those idiotic NFL scouts don't watch the last two seasons. These two Muppets peanut gallery geazers worked some kind of miracle squeezing 5 wins out of those five slobs.

Do you see a theme on the invites? The only offensive player invited was a TE. Our defense was absolutely good enough talent wise. Offense, not so much.

+1, you can't have more than twice as many give away's 26 as take away's 12 and expect to make a bowl game.

They used the same excuse last year. Enough with the "bare upboards" bs. It could easily be said this team is actually more talented than last year, as evidenced by at least 5 guys at the combine not to mention Jory Johnson, Masters, Wirth, Smallwood, Stephen, McCombs, GDavis (Stud), Phillips, Delahunt, Bennett, Friend, NWilliams, MSmith, Wagner, the two young safeties. How long before this excuse gets old even for you?

Moore made a tackle behind the line of scrimmage on Texas A&M running back Christine Michael, the NFL Network announcing crew sounded like they were members of Sio's fan club.

They mentioned that East head coach Jerry Glanville, a former head coach of the Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons, said "put an asterisk next to that guy because you are going to know who he is in the next couple of years."

Wouldn't coaching have something to do with that?

Yes, but we had two WRs and a TE in all star games. And an all BE RB from last year regressed.

Our defense did not cause turn overs in either one of Don Browns seasons.

I think his coaching was a problem with that.

With the amount of pressure and TFL we created, there should have been tons of turnovers.

The downside of his philosophy is giving up the big play. The upside is creating big plays.

His defense did not create many big plays ie. turnovers.
