I'm at a sports bar and it is on mute. Was wondering what they said. Thanks.
I can't believe he was considered a sleeper. He was a total freak for us. This game is so weird sometimes.
He's considered a sleeper because he played at Connecticut.
"Sleeper" is a subjective term. I think they're using it to say he was originally projected in rounds 5-7 and he's worked his way up a few rounds.
Combine invites don't go out until late January
Agreed. If he played for Alabama, USC or Notre Dame, I wonder if his initial projection would have been 5-7. But its all good, he's got the exposure and opportunity now.
The NFL scouts every player as an individual. They don't care where you played, they care how you play.
Exactly. Just look at last years first round and second round. Players got drafted from schools like, Memphis, Appalachian State, North Alabama, Midwestern State, Utah State, and Marshall.
College football players in their final year of collegiate eligibility who have been selected to participate in the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine and whose college season has been completed (including championships and/or Bowl games), will be notified of their selection by Friday, December 28th, 2012. Invitations and instructions for completing the required registration will be sent to the player’s email address provided during their college pro day last Spring.
I found this for the 2012 combine, I'm guessing a similar timeframe would apply for 2013:Jt, can you provide a link to the source, I don't doubt it, I'm just curious, there's a lot of info out on the web, thans for posting. If this is the case, I would think we would have heard something about our guys by now.

And since he told me personally that he got the letter what you said didn't make sense. I thought maybe I misheard him. So I checked.

What is the most Connecticut's had in any one year?
Has to be some other year. Every brown-nosed CT sportswriter will tell you there wasn't enough talent on this team to make a bowl game. Clearly those idiotic NFL scouts don't watch the last two seasons. These two Muppets peanut gallery geazers worked some kind of miracle squeezing 5 wins out of those five slobs.
