at the East West Shrine game . Practice started today in Mobile.

"SIO MOORE/OLB/UCONN was also conspicuous in his athleticism and apparent football IQ. He kept things under control, because the hitting was limited today by the coaches’ mandate, but he had several occasions where he could really have delivered a blow and most likely will in the next few days. He also looked athletic enough to cover some ground and help in pass defense. I consider him a sleeper, who was the best athlete on a solid Huskies Defense this past season."

It's far too early to be judging the defensive prospects until contact drills start, but Moore was one of the most physical players out there Monday, "using his hands to dislodge their route tree as best he could, and adjusting upfield to attack the ball in the running plays of 12 vs. 12." He's a name to watch in the days ahead.

2. OLB Sio Moore, Connecticut (6-1, 230, 4.63) -- One of the more underrated prospects in this game, Moore might be the most versatile defender in the country that few are talking about. Lining up at weakside linebacker for the Huskies, he made plays in coverage, against the run and even getting after the passer, putting his hand in the dirt on third downs and rushing off the edge. Moore leaves UConn with a productive résumé (268 tackles, 43.0 tackles for loss, 16.0 sacks and 22 passes defended), but his role at the next level is a bit of a mystery at this point. He has some tweener traits, but with his burst off the edge and lateral fluidity in space, Moore has top-100 potential.

Just don't throw the ball at him :). Great player, deserves a spot on an NFL roster.

I can't believe he was considered a sleeper. He was a total freak for us. This game is so weird sometimes.

I'm sure it's his size that raises some questions. Don't really follow the NFL all that much, but I have to believe he would be on the light end for LBs.

I agree with you though, he and Yawin took over big chunks of games last season. Folks just could not contain them. Sio did an excellent job filling in for Trevardo at times as well.

My understanding is that he has been invited.

What is the prototypical "weight" for LBs? I know that his offseason weight gets up closer to 250. I expect him to weigh in much higher than where he has been listed (which generally is around 230).

Average size 6'2" 247. Currently the NFL has linebackers from 5'10"-6'5" weighing from 230-270.

For an inside LB, about 6'2" 245-255lbs. Most will run the 40 in around 4.5-4.7 seconds. Outside LB's vary a lot because of the different uses in schemes. Anywhere from 6' 220lbs to 6'6" 275lbs is normal depending on where they line up.

If that's the case he should be fine from a size/speed perspective. Should be roughly middle of the pack size-wise with above average speed.

Sio is NOT light for an NFL LB. There are many at 240.

He is short for an NFL LB at a tad over 6 feet.

Kuechly measured in at 6'3 235 before the draft and ran a 4.75 and he did pretty damn well for being 235 and slower than the average Lb. Not to mention Bobby Wagner was a 2nd rd pick at 6'0 241 while running a 4.7 Sio for WLB is at the right size and speed.

I think he might be suffering a little bit because for the most part our LB and DL have underperformed and been bitten by the injury bug in the NFL especially relative to draft position.

#3 SIO MOORE OLB 6’2 230 UCONN

I felt he was one of the more athletic LBs coming into this week and his all over the field play just confirmed it. He won’t be able to show it on Saturday, because blitz is a dirty word at All-Star Games, but he has real sack ability using his speed and good strength to work around and through blocking garbage. He’s also adept at dropping into coverage. He looks light on his feet with good change of direction. He’s also shown that he likes to hit. He too shows me the talent and athleticism to get drafted in the first 3 Rounds come April. Watch for him to make a few noticeable plays this Saturday.

The NFL doesn't care about other players from the school. It has zero impact on how they evaluate talent.

When he was let Loose around the Pitt game and the louiseville game he was giving o lineman fits. He shows he can pass rush and drop into coverage. Say he does well as weak side

Sio has been added to the reserve list for the senior bowl in case a LB gets hurt during practice week.
