Any update on where he might be headed?

Amazing how quiet it is around our portal transfers. Nowell and Abraham were both really quiet recruitments, I have only heard a tiny bit about Mahaney possibly heading to UCSB and I’ve heard nothing about Singare.

Santa clara offered 400k. His handlers thunk he is worth 500k. San Diego state also interested
According to maac coach p5 10-11 type guys getting 100k nil to sit

Escaped my notice until I read Fishy's post.

Perhaps it's timed with Karaban's announcement? I mean Singare could be a nice 4 for us.

All due respect to Singare, but he probably needs to wait for the game of musical chairs to slow down a bit before figuring out where he has a good shot at real minutes. There are just waaaaay too many similar bench bigs in the portal right now

If you don't get minutes your freshman year and it looks like you won't get minutes sophomore year, transferring is the right move for most.

Coaches that liked you in high school will forget about you very quick after two years of not playing and the offers and NIL will be much worse.

Well, he better decide soon because if he were inclined to come back, it might be too late.

From his decision to enter the portal, we can assume that he doesn’t want to be the break glass in case of emergency third center, which is exactly what he would be here next year. Who knows what could happen, but I would be very surprised if he came back. He’ll be able to find minutes somewhere, it’s just not going to be at this level.

The Mahaney article said he told on 3 about his "intention" to transfer, and that he "had a school in mind." So it's a bit nothing new, to me.

And why did we need another separate Singare thread?

I understand kids want to play, but wonder if they have good advisors, not just agents.

Option 1: Stay at Uconn. He played a bit during emergencies..and quite honestly, thought he did quite well for what I expected. Another year of dev, play behind Reed. He's def stronger than Reibe. If we have a decent 3rd C, does that allow Reibe to play some at the 4? so 25 Reid, 8 Reibe, 7 Singare
Does this option depend on Karaban leaving?

Option 2: Go to another P5 as a starter? Not likely as he would have already gotten an offer and been gone. Does he want to go to be a backup on a bad P5 team?

Option 3: Drop down a level....prob would get PT...how much NIL compared to what he gets at Uconn? Long term benefits?

Which option is best for his long term career path. I'm biased, but I would think 2 more years under Hurley allows him to be the best possible version of himself, and maximizes whatever long term Bball career he might have, in Europe or elsewhere.

He’s 7 feet, been in the system 2 years, knows the culture and we need a backup big.
If they don’t bring in someone with more size and experience, better, it doesn’t make sense. Wish they would’ve played him in between the other guys constant foul trouble. And I know it’s old news, but Calhoun would’ve masterly weaved minutes for Singare, in between Samson and Reeds foul trouble. He was the best at that.
