Oubre or Black? Is it possible for both with Hamilton already in mix?

So, Hamilton plays the 2? Does he (or Oubre) have the quickness to guard most guards?
We could take Oubre and Hamilton. They both can play time at the SG or SF. Neither will see time at the PG so they dont need to have the quickness to. With them two on the court they would be interchangeable at the SG and SF. The staff is after Oubre extremely hard right now. Top target.

Black is a PF. Oubre is SF.

Nice. Had in my head Black was a sf. Hamilton, Oubre, Black, all similar size across 3 positions. Could provide some intriguing, interchangeable lineups.

If we were to somehow land Oubre and Black in addition to Hamilton, you'd be talking about us right up there with whatever Kentucky does at the top of the recruiting rankings.

Being realistic, I'll take one (preferably Black, but I'm liking the idea of Oubre and Hamilton being mirror images of each other on the court).

People stop worrying about what position everyone will play, we are recruiting basketball players and Ollie wants versatile players that can handle at every position.

That's nice, and I love the premise, but putting five wings on the court would put us in an awful position defensively. We need to factor that in, too, and if Hamilton/Oubre can't keep up with the foot speed of a guard, then we should probably stick with Hamilton and focus on someone like Ahmed Hill to take the other scholly.

Understood. Getting an idea of what Ollie is looking to build.
Question was related to whether or not they would go to same school if same spot, didn't know Black was more of a PF.

Oubre is considered a 5 star player by many. I don't care if he's Daniel Hamilton long lost identical twin. We should be (and are) doing everything possible to land him.

Exactly. In that video where Jalen Rose destroys Skip Bayless he mentions how the idea of labeling specific positions like PG, SG, SF, PF. C is just to help people who aren't too familiar with the game. If you're a 6'6-6'7" guy with handle, quickness, you can shoot, rebound, etc it doesn't matter if you're classified as a 2 or a 3 or whatever. Hamilton and Oubre could absolutely be in the backcourt together. They'd be nasty.

Also, from what I've seen of both players. They absolutely would be capable of playing the 4 in college in a pinch. I love that Ollie seems like he's going after extremely versatile guys

Black is 6'7 but could play pf, so is Oubre. But black plays more like a pf so he probably will play stretch 4 in colleg. Oubre plays more like a wing. 2 different players with 2 different games. (its fun choosing which 5* recruits we want, we should do this more often.) Hamilton is a guard/point forward. All these guys play differentpostions with different styles of play. So..... If it was realistically possible for us to get all, we shouldn't have any long jams theoretically.

Obviously we won't be starting 5 wings but we are going after some of the most talented and versatile players in the class. The staff is going all out on Oubre and Black and we should be very excited about this instead of wondering what position they will play. Do you think Kentucky fans are worrying about what position everyone will play when they get half of the top 15 players in the country?

I think Ollie very well might be selling Oubre on playing power forward the way we are using Daniels.

I think we need a true PG in this class. Unless you think Boatright will be back.

I've never really understood the worry about position either. It's one thing if you have a super quick guy with a great handle but who is short with no outside shot. Of course he's going to have to be a PG only. Or a guy who's 7'2" but can't make a shout outside of a layup, then you have a pure center. But why not have really versatile guys who can play several positions? it's not like we have to recruit a 1,2,3,4 and 5.

I don't know why you get the idea that Ollie is doing that. Oubre plays a lot of guard, much more than Daniels did in HS. I mean, I guess I see where you can get the idea, but I have to respectfully disagree. I think Ollie is recruiting to play 2 or 3, but ultimately I think Ollie is recruiting guys who can just play ball at multiple positions. And Black is an Adrien PF type, the dude is stacked for a HS kid

As for true PG, yes and no. As I have been stating we can use one but don't NEED one. We have (not including Boatright who may stay) two guys in Purvis and Samuel who can run the point and both likely will. Oubre and Hamilton can handle the roc as well as anyone in the country also. Now another true PG would be nice. But remember during the 2014-15 season our guys will be young so coaches can always recruit a new PG that year as they observe the "make-up" and chemistry of that future squad. Again, Boatright might be a part of it too. I just don't see a huge "rush" for a true PG like others are seeing. I think we will get one. I am more worries about landing another scorer like Oubre. And after that a quality big man or two, like Black, Chukwu, or Abu for example. Could use some more scoring inside.

The last listing I saw had Hamilton at 178 lbs. I get the whole, let's not pigeon-hole these guys by position, but it seems life down low as a power forward might be a bit difficult.

We won our first NC going small. We won NC #2 going big. We made FF #3 going really big. We won NC #3 going really small.

The thing they all had in common? Great players. Always need those.

He's a junior in high school. And he will be playing very little power forward.

He won't play pf, he's a guard. Put he has a great handle and I bet he plays point forward. He averaged 7 assist last season and is only getting better. Plus we have a guy named facey coming in next year who is supposed to be pretty good at the 4, when he bulks up. Which should be by his sophomore season.
