Should Shabazz have said this to the press? Obviously no, but this needed to be said because to be honest his comments are spot on. I'll support this team through and through but they are very soft this season, we got outrebounded by Marquette yesterday. With Drummond and Oriakhi in the paint we should never ever be getting outrebounded by a team whose tallest player is 6-7. Rebounding is a measure of heart and toughness and yesterday Marquette had far more heart and toughness than we did. Other than the run to start the 2nd half this team never responded to the runs Marquette put together and continued to play even with them for a long period of time, this team seems to lack a sense of urgency and needs to realize that when you get punched in the mouth you got to punch the other team back not play even with them for five more minutes. Shabazz has been playing his best basketball of his UConn career these last three games, as much as people want to jump on him for these comments is he really wrong? The kid has tried to get into this team on the court and nobody responds, hes clearly frustrated and i feel this is almost a last ditch effort to get his teammates to step up. Either this tears the team apart or the other players finally hear what Bazz is trying to say. Either way I'll be watching this team the rest of the way hoping for a turnaround.
