I guess you missed the first post where I said I don't like these comments coming from him and they should not be voiced to the media. Not only are you an idiot but you're an illiterate idiot, on ignore you go.
I hope the team starts winning again so half of these posters disappear.

and since we're talking about illiterates, why don't you show me one of my posts where I "blamed this season on him". I think you spelled your handle wrong: it should be ASSboon

This is not good at all. There is obviously chemistry issues with this team and it goes back a couple months. The worst part is last season was the complete opposite. I would never have expected this group of guys not getting along and calling each other out in the media. Its really shocking, i cant ever remember a Uconn team acting like this.

You can get the whole interview with Bazz at unconnhuskies.com, quotes

It's even worse then I thought it was. Not once in that interview does he take ANY blame.

.-.
Just a huge leadership vacuum after kemba and beverly left.

Calhoun not being there makes it worse, but this team team needs some counseling (like couples counseling).

I'm sure every other thought I have has been touched upon in some thread about the team, the problems, possible solutions, etcetera.

Disappointing year no doubt.

The demise of this team without a doubt started with the "I guess i'm not the leader". Bazz's game went to sh@t after that. Go back watch the games he had a look on his fa e like he could care less. Jeremy can't make shoots when we need them and can't gets strip at the top of the key repeatedly. There has to be a rift between him and Bazz and AO he as played like garbage. I don't say this because I'm hating on this team i'm saying g this because they are quiters. Yes they have glass chins. But I really have to question how the staff is letting the in house stuff get out. It not hapenning just on Blane's watch, Bazz leadership statements AO questioning his minutes. It looks like these guys think they were the reason we won a championship. It was all Kemba.

Now, now...it was not "all Kemba", as good as he was. Just because the team is struggling right now doesn't mean we need to demean the accomplishments of last season.

Everybody played a crucial role in winning the championship last season...even the guys who are playing like dog right now.

Kemba made it all work, and without him we probably don't make the tournament last year...but one man doesn't win a title.

It is about (will continue) to get ugly. When they played together and smart they ran Marquette off the floor. As soon as they ease up on defense/rebounding or start playing cocky, they fall apart and give up 10 point runs.

As for SN, he has been more efficient on O these past few games. But, until he figures out that taking bad shots after leaving him man wide open for 3 is killing this team, even if he makes a few. His failure to stop him man from driving the lane is a major reason why the Bigs are always in foul trouble.

There is more to basketball than flipping reverse layups and making the occassional steal.

Reading many of these posts, I can't help get a sense of deja vu back to the 2009-2010 season when people kept hoping that something would happen to light a fire under the team to save the season but it never came. Actually, that team quit at the end when it needed to get some wins to make the tourney and then went out with a wimper in the first round of the BE Tourney. I think it is more likely that this team follows a similar road the rest of the games rather than going on a run.

Comparisons:

Lamb= Dyson (both tremendous talent and needed to lead but failed to do so, questionable shot selection, matador defense)
Drummond=Robinson (freakish athletes but inconsistent and disappeared from games, prone to early foul trouble, should have dominated much more than they did just an athletic ability, too nice/lacked a mean streak)

2009-2010= 2011-2012 (many very talented individual players but terrible chemistry and never seemed to gel)

.-.
All on Twitter. Says Teammates throw pillows when they get punched.

Wonder if that includes himself. RT @KevinRDuffy: Shabazz Napier: "I hate to say it, but I have to question some of these guys' heart."
I could give a rats ass. About time someones says something!! Maybe it will light a fire and they show they do have heart and fire in their guts!
Win some games Baby!! Lets go our season is almost over!

I watched his comments on the evening news and stopped listening after the 7th "y'know."

Boatright= Kemba? A guy who is a clear leader but because of other players seniority he cannot be a true leader of the team.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that.. Boat has tremendous talent, and can have a great attitude towards the game and winning. However, his attitude has some negative aspects as well that surely came out today with that T. Has to be smarter than that.

IMO there is an almost total lack of trust on offense. The double-takes and look-offs before the ball gets passed are tough to watch, never mind the 2-3 second hesitancy before running the offense. The passing around the perimeter for 15 seconds when we're trailing double digits is beyond brutal.

Lamb= Dyson
NO NO NO. Lamb is a net positive. Dyson was a cancer and a one-man momentum killer. If anything, Shabazz has shown hints of Dyson at times.

Drummond=Robinson
I'd buy it.

2009-2010= 2011-2012 (many very talented individual players but terrible chemistry and never seemed to gel)
Unfortunately, this seems to be the case.

good post and i have already repeated this many times that Shabazz should have never been appointed captain. His awful personality, demeanor, negative attitude, is hurting the team. Also, your right that there is a rift between lamb, shabazz and oriakhi. These guys dont interact like their brothers but like their strangers just assembled to play a game for 2 hours and go home. Calhoun messed up with this team from the beginning by showing favoritism to certain players and not showing any loyalty or respect to others. The loss of Moe Harkless was huge and he would have been very very important to this team. Drummond is soft and too nice. Instead of taking the ball in the post and overpowering Crowder and the whole Marquette team he drifts out 10 fee from the basket taking stupid off balance jumpers. Lamb is not a leader and doesnt inspire anyone with his play or intensity. This teams chemistry problems are most likely beyond repair for this year, but there is still a slight hope we can still make the NCAAs

Should Shabazz have said this to the press? Obviously no, but this needed to be said because to be honest his comments are spot on. I'll support this team through and through but they are very soft this season, we got outrebounded by Marquette yesterday. With Drummond and Oriakhi in the paint we should never ever be getting outrebounded by a team whose tallest player is 6-7. Rebounding is a measure of heart and toughness and yesterday Marquette had far more heart and toughness than we did. Other than the run to start the 2nd half this team never responded to the runs Marquette put together and continued to play even with them for a long period of time, this team seems to lack a sense of urgency and needs to realize that when you get punched in the mouth you got to punch the other team back not play even with them for five more minutes. Shabazz has been playing his best basketball of his UConn career these last three games, as much as people want to jump on him for these comments is he really wrong? The kid has tried to get into this team on the court and nobody responds, hes clearly frustrated and i feel this is almost a last ditch effort to get his teammates to step up. Either this tears the team apart or the other players finally hear what Bazz is trying to say. Either way I'll be watching this team the rest of the way hoping for a turnaround.

You forgot to mention that hes to blame for Calhoun's bad back as well.

I actually agree with Shabazz and I support his statements but you dont say that kind of stuff again to the media. That doesnt help the team or himself. I give props to Shabazz because he is fighting and showing some toughness. Shabazz is right because guys like Lamb and Drummond are lottery picks and are not playing like they have something to prove, they are just there not giving their max effort because they know they will be making millions soon. If I was napier after the game in the locker room, you start throwing chairs, throwing towels having an emotional heart to heart with the team telling everyone to not think of just themselves and their futures but the future of all the players, coaches, and the future of the university. This is UCONN and we are too good to be playing like chumps. You have to get into some people's faces and tell them the hard long truth. Keep this kind of stuff in the team and in the locker room not in the media.

You're right as i said i didn't like that Shabazz said this to the media, but hes a sophomore hes young hes gonna make mistakes. I think some people have to remember Shabazz at this point has got to be extremely frustrated, hes attempted to lead this team time and time again but it seems nobody wants to listen to him, what he said was exactly what Coach Calhoun would be saying after this game. I almost feel Shabazz is doing this as a final attempt to salvish the season, he feels it is slipping away and hes hoping his teammates will respond to the challenge he made publicly. I could be wrong but I think Bazz is attempting to make his message as loud and as clear as possible and if nobody's listenting to him a lockerroom talk will do nothing. As much as I don't like these things being said to the media I feel that it had to be said and this team needed to publicly challenged because obviously things being said in the lockerrom are not getting through to this team.
