He's 6'3.5" barefoot, which would put him around 6'5" in shoes. With a 6'11" wingspan, he's absolutely not undersized.

Your post about him being 6'3" without a handle means Europe when dude is a half an inch shorter than Lamb was w/o shoes at the 2012 Draft. His height/length is not a detriment to his profile right now.

How is 2 guard? Whether he's 6'3 or 6'5 he needs to do those things right?

Yes, obviously having a better handle enhances his prospects but his height isn't a knock. Are you trying to say you once again creating a mythical measurement of 6'3" wasn't meant to try to downgrade his NBA potential? He's about 6'5" in shoes with crazy length(.5" shorter wignspan than Lamb), he has ideal size.

Great length and by no means was there any mythical mau equation on this one. I mean if he was 6'0 with that span he'd be a capable 2 so please take the height out. Just a simple opinion he's a nasty athlete and ready there but to say one and done with pretty much being an open court player is going to be tough. The weakness of playing in half court will hold him back unless he improves and he has a full year to do so then at least one year at his chosen college. Can he do it? Yeah most likely? No that's all.

I think it's not that his size is insufficient by any means, but rather that his size isn't a big enough asset/plus for his skill set to lack anything as important as handle (esp if he wants to leave college really early/after one year). I'm sure in the next few years to come, he will be diligently working on improving his handle and shot. He's still a stud regardless.
 
HD has a nice upside but he isn't even close to being a one and done. He is an undersized 2 guard who is a below ave. shooter. He is not even close to being a pro both physically and shooting wise. One and done no chance.
 
its to early to call if he is a 4 year player or not. but if we're predicting I'm more inclined to think he isn't a 4 year player and a 2-3 yr. He is entering his JUNIOR year, so 2 more seasons to clean up his weak areas, which all have to do with in game experience, and repetition. When its time for him to come to storrs he will be a stud and a very exciting player.

The kid is just scratching the surface. if he comes in '16 he's a young freshman. He would probably stay for a second year. Even if he comes in '17 I can't imagine him staying for more than 2 years anywhere, too talented and has too much upside. And stop talking about him being an undersized 2, he has fije size and an elite wingspan, that's what matters more.
 
Wingspan is way overrated. He is still under 6'4 which is undersized for an NBA 2 guard. Don't get me wrong I like the kid and hope he comes to UCONN. He is very good athlete, aggressive and takes it to the hole better than any other two guard I have seen. However he has a teenage body that needs a lot of maturing and his game is raw, very raw but with a ton of upside.

Did you think Lamb was an undersized SG when he entered the draft?

if you're saying wingspan is overrated why are you putting stock in barefoot height? They play in shoes and with shoes on he is not undersized. Wingspan is extremely important on defense, getting in passing lanes, getting steals and blocks, and on offense, getting you're shots off over bigger defenders.

This is only true if you use Diallo's barefoot measurements while holding him to the standard of an NBA 2-guard in shoes. He's taller and longer than Victor Oladipo, Ben McLemore, Brad Beal, Jodie Meeks, Dion Waiters, Eric Gordon, Monta Ellis, and basically identical to Dwyane Wade and James Harden. That's prototypical NBA 2-guard size. He needs to bulk up, obviously, but neither height nor length are going to be a knock on Diallo going into the draft.

WTF cares - the guy is a major player that we want and need - what I care about most is the quality of person he is and can he is help us win another NC. Have no idea about the first question but am sure KO will know that and am sure he can help us with the second.

There is nothing wrong with people discussing what impact they think Diallo's measurements will have after his post-collegiate career. If you only care about whether or not Diallo can help us win a championship or not, then that's on you. However, some of us here are a bit more interested in a player's career than solely championships.

Poo throwing continues even after we see them play in the NCAA (cough ...rvis). Unless of course they have an heroic championship game that leads to a victory. Then some of us admit our errors.

To err is human. To forgive is divine. Championships help us find divinity. Uconn bb (men's and women's) fans are divinely superior to exCuse fans for example! Of course we could learn to develop a little humility. I guess I'm flawed because I love gut punchin those dudes. Forgive me Lord..........
 
Actually, I said I was also interested in the quality of person he is. I do think most of the BY is interested in us continuing to win championships. Just wondering what the relevance of discussing/arguing about the length of someones arms, legs, hat size, have someone's career? Diallo is a stud period, and most of us want him regardless of his ring size - but I guess we can debate all

We're discussing height and length for the same reason guys get measured and those numbers are published, because its relevant. If people had no interest in them those numbers wouldn't be out there.

I get it - but we now know and have known that he's a 2/3 and he's great player and kid- now what? I'm just saying debating his sleeve length and other dimensions till the cows comes home is sort of tedious - all this is good to know, but I guess my comments were about the endless debate as if it really is relevant - as Hilary said, "what difference does it make?" We want the dude to be a husky - lets get 'em

We all obviously want him, but there's only so many times and ways you can say that.

Relevance of size: IF he comes here, assuming he wants to work his way to the NBA, his size and measurements combined with his developed skill set will determine if he can how long he stays here. Some think he'll leave earlier than others. It will also determine how he matches up against other players. Not that hard to figure out.

Some people come here to read and discuss more than: "I like him. I hope he plays here. I want us to win."
 
I guess dude wants this to be the VCU board and have it be a bunch of posters posting about how badly we want a recruit for hundreds of pages.
