Seton HeII Post Game Thread

Need something to look forward to. How much better are we next year with the burger boys? Or is it more pain? Thank you as I’m on sam Adams number 4
Don't take this the wrong way but with what we've experienced the past couple of seasons I hope we're able to endure a little pain. Every other fan base has dealt with a lot over that time frame.

Demoralizing. Some losses can be good, this loss cracks any faith this team has any potential to do more than win a fluke game if one of our players has a career night.

We have a few extraordinarily low expectations end mental game players.

And if AK comes back with his guaranteed 35+ minutes of playing time then that will have repercussions for this rest of the guys that need minutes at that position
I would've wished him well and said he had to leave under the old system but coming back is his best option. He's not going to play in the NBA next season and he can make his bank account bigger in CT. Tooling around in the G League or playing in Turkey doesn't sound like fun when you can make a lot of money where people love you.

Teams are allowed to have bad games (which it certainly was) and do enough to still win. That’s exactly what we did, but it was stolen away from us. You people just watched the officials take a win and hand it to Seton Hall.
Exactly. We played bad, but my God. This was a travesty.

Why are we talking about next year, I mean I get it after this loss while the bread is still in the oven and will be for a long time, but it’s just a losers mentality.

We've had it good the last 2 years. Really good. A lifetime's worth of titles some fans still can only dream about. But days like today still suck.

Out coached, out hustled, out played. Why put the ball on the floor there? Hug the ball and get fouled. This team is not good, plain and simple.
He was trying to make sure he didn't get trapped, but AND he was fouled!

I don’t completely disagree. I more so just trying to plug holes instead of engaging in a complete roster overhaul. We have 3 MCDAA coming in next season, Ball will be back, I’d expect Stewart and Ross back, as well as Ahmad and Abraham. How do we build around that group? I think by adding size and physicality at the guard and wing spots. I think a successful off season would start with adding a big stud at the guard spot. And just hope and pray that Reed, Ball, Stewart, Ross, Ahmad and Abraham get. better
If they come back i hope there are a lot better players in front of them as they don't look like ones that can contribute much.

No I get it, we’re due for pain. It’s been too good lately. Would just prefer our pain being like a 12/5 upset versus bubble!

All Ball had to was hold it.
How many times does he have to learn to stop looking straight ahead with these high unprotected dribbles? Focus on ball control, low, focused dribbling Solo when you’re in a jam. You ain’t Steph Curry. Every double team doesn’t end with you sinking a 3. Watching him get stripped of the ball over and over again at key moments of the game is getting hard to watch.

Protect the ball, Solo!

How many guys on the current team do you really want starting game one next season? I'm thinking like... one or two

I disagree on Stewart. But I’m a bit of a Stewart Stan. So I may not be objective

It is on Hurley.

His teams have had trouble inbounding the ball for years. How any times had Karaban had to call time out trying to inbounds the ball this year. It has to approaching a dozen.

How many other teams in the whole NCAA cannot inbounds the ball without turning it over? If they ca do it why can't we?

Hurley doesn't escape responsibility for this. He has to fix it. But it may have cost him a tourney bid because he let it go so long.
True. Our ineptitude for inbounding the ball is embarrassing.

I get that the refs played a big role in deciding the game, but even being in a situation where you are one or two bad calls from losing to the worst power conference team in the nation is damning. Hurley needs to stop talking s*** to opposing fans and instead make sure the team knows how to inbound the ball
The inbounding the ball sticks out. But this team wasn’t prepared to play. They obviously think they are so good that they can just roll the ball out and beat poor teams. They played poorly the entire game..

I'll be very careful how I put this but for the most part the freshmen have all received basically what they've earned in terms of playing time.

From a source within the program, of the three freshmen, one (I'm sure you can figure out who) was far more advanced/developed than the staff had expected when he arrived while the other two were nowhere near as advanced/developed as they expected. They admit that with the past couple of years (Karaban, Clingan, Castle) they had been spoiled, They believe in all of the kids but it will take time before they are ready.

I imagine (this is conjecture on my part) that every game coming down to the wire is limiting any opportunities for the kids.

Meh.

The sophomores aren’t very good - like, really, not very good. We have one spot up shooter in the bunch and none of them can do anything else.

If they’re keeping these freshmen on the bench, we need to question why we’re recruiting a half dozen players who can’t play.
