Seton Hall Post Game Thread

.-.
Glad to see RashadRay11 is genuinely insane and not just stalking me for dislikes. I said something half positive and half negative 4 games ago and he’s been on a crusade since. It’s bizarre how mad he gets.

The ignore button is there for a reason.
As far as today’s game goes, a team never looks better than when the ball goes through the hoop and SH shot the 3 much better than their norm. Tough game, nice win and Karaban all game and Ball FT down the stretch, well we needed every one of them.

A friend asked me why Reed is such a shaky foul shooter. Some things just are. He has no real feel or touch and I’m sure he practices a lot. FWIW. his shot is almost always on line but his misses are usually off the back iron. A matter of 1/2-1 inch. He isn’t crazy wild. But shooting even 65% would be nice. Go Huskies.

Oh we already know you’re one of them Geno was talking about Kolumbo, so a dislike from you is a badge of honor. Thank you kindly. I will continue to call out this stuff.
For the record, I know for a fact, not saying how, that families of players, players themselves, coaches, people involved and around the program get wind of what is said on here. So I’m done letting some of it go. If you want to make fun of me for that, I truly do not care.
FYI. No one here is going to change what they will post based on your opinion or approval rating. It's not as big a deal as you think it is newbster. And save your Geno idolizing for someplace else. You can lump me in with whatever group you feel like. You have no idea. Carry on.

.-.
You’ve made it infinitely clear how little you respect Geno and the women’s program. It’s not a good look Kolumbo.
I don't care how attractive you think I am. Go spend a couple hours trying to find a post where I have attacked a player on either team and come back and see me. I am eternally proud of both programs. As for Geno, I criticized one statement he made. He can handle it. Now beat it.

No, I mean the exact stuff Geno called out. Personal attacks, ridiculous vitriol, excessive criticism, general ey-hole behavior. If you support that, says more about you. Players, coaches, announcers, and their families read this board and I will call it out again and again.
Didn’t this all start because a couple of us said Donny wasn’t a very good color guy? You’re making a few logical leaps there.

Nah this goes back a couple months at this point. As I said above, I know for a fact that some of the awful stuff posted on here makes its way back to players, their families, coaches, announcers, etc. I will call it out so at least those posters don’t think everyone supports their ridiculous behavior. Don’t care if you agree or not.

Genuinely no idea what you’re talking about. Some folks have some dumb takes here but it’s generally not personal or “awful” towards players and I think the mods are very good about removing those few that cross a line. If you’ve ever been on UConn twitter or a facebook comment section (or most other teams’ message boards that aren’t moderated as well), the stuff said is a million times worse than here and IMO, almost certainly what Geno was referring to, and not a random poster on the boneyard saying player X hasn’t played well and shouldn’t be seeing as much PT. Your diatribe seems like performative nonsense.

Some of his hot takes are just so over the top I don't even acknowledge them.
It was funny when he said Uconn always takes confident shots when clock is getting to like 3 seconds then on the next possession Smith dribbled us into a shot clock violation

Gampel was loud and rocking today. SH played their butts off and our half court offense has to get more spontaneous and make more quick open shots... After St. John's, people thought we were a lock for the final four. It's going to be a battle to get there - just hoping everyone shows up for the remaining games and Tarris shoots 75% from free throw line...

Not sure I have seen a graduating senior have a better game than Alex Karaban did today. As the game was going on I was getting the feeling it was Creighton at Gampel 2.0. Seton Hall took Silas out of the game and Tarris was struggling to hold onto the ball and rebound in traffic. Reibe made 2 hoops in second half that helped us keep up to Seton Hall shooting at a ridiculously high rate from all categories especially the 3 ball. Seton Hall was relentless on D deflecting passes and getting steals and blocks. Last I saw they had 9 blocks and we had 3. Plus we had everyone it seemed going 1 for 2 from the free throw stripe until the last 4 minutes. The team stuck together and found a way to get the lead back. Huge win for seeding in the Tourney and for the Seniors. Fans were more than loud and involved. Intense fun BE game.

Great game from Alex. He willed us to win. Love you Alex and sad that this is your last season. He will be sorely missed. We finally had the fouls go the other way. Seton Hall 14 2nd half and us only 4. They had 3 guys foul out. Nice to see those hold fouls called.
Could have easily called twice that number against Seton Hall.

Did you watch the game? UConn had 1 foul for most of the 2nd half while the Huskies were in the bonus. I think you may be in love with a narrative.
And why do you think that was? They were hacking away. The announcers noted it (it was 3 fouls, BTW). We came out and got 3 until Mullins was sent to the bench on a ridiculous call

I did too and have talked to him once and he is a little bit of cocky guy. I don't dislike him but sometimes he does go over board on what he says.
Loved the cockiness when he was a player of course, but its not endearing otherwise.

Finally watched the replay. Too many TOs, but I didn't feel we really playes bad overall or anything, SH just turned the game into a Helter Skelter mess. When an opposing team against UConn has twice as many fouls (22 vs 10!!!), and there are 30 combined turnovers, you know it was an uglied up game.

Our defense was ok, they just shot way over their average percentage, especially from 3. They did everytbing they had to do to have a chance to win, but could not. Not a fun game to watch, but I'll take the win without too many complaints or criticism.
