The officiating could be better, but it's not the story of the half by a wide margin. Turnovers are 16 to 3 and Uconn is barely even trying to get the ball off the glass. Lamb is letting himself get manhandled without much resistence. The guards keep trying the same stupid passes.
UConn is playing the most undisiplined basketball I can remember in 2 years, and Blaney doesn't appear equipped to coach this sort of game. He has great strengths in other areas, but not here. He looks as though the game is just happening to him without him trying to do anything to manage it. Seton Hall came out with more intensity, but this is the kind of game Calhoun would be cracking heads on. If a player makes the same mistake several times in a row, it's no longer the player's fault, but the bench's.
I think the second half will tell a fair amount about this team. If they fold up, I'll be severely disappointed in their character. A deficit like this on the road is probably going to be too much to hope to overcome, even if they play great, so a win is very improbable at this point. But at least go down fighting.
