Seton Hall doing it again.

They are a team that feeds off mistakes, and relies on momentum. They also rely on refs letting them play a physical defense where they get away with fouls not called, to create the pressure and force the turnovers they need to win. They could beat anyone in Big East, but also will have head scratching losses, when teams don’t turn ball over, or refs call fouls when they manhandle people on defense. I doubt they will be able to win consistently enough to get into top 25.

They just beat the best two teams in the league. What overreaction?
They’re 3-1 in a 20 game season with horrible out of conference losses. The odds are very much in favor of them having way out performed what they will do the rest of the season. If you really feel like they are the team to beat in the league, I’d be happy to put money on the other side of that.

What win the league? You said they'll be lucky to come in the Top 4. Sounds like you are coming around on them.

I'm in the boat that Seton Hall isn't that good and will start losing soon (though I've been wrong about a lot of things this season), but FWIW the average 4th place team in the BE the last few years is .603

That's about 12-8, meaning they can go 9-7 the rest of the way and potentially be a top 4 team. Still have GTown 2x and DePaul 2x. If they win those, they need 2 wins combined vs. St Johns 2x, Butler 2x, Nova 2x, Creighton 2x, Xavier 1x, PC 1x, UConn 1x, Marquette 1x

I hate that it seems VERY do-able, and dare I say likely? But I wouldn't put it past them to lose to Georgetown or something

What are you talking about? I’m saying I am happy to put money on them not finishing at the top of the league.

Typo maybe? *5 wins combined (9-4 = 5). A little more difficult, but 6 home games in there, so definitely very possible.

When you win 3 of the most difficult games on the schedule (H-Marq, H-UConn, @Prov) it certainly makes your standings projections better.

Shaheen Holloway, despite what so many here have said, can coach at this level. He was a very smart player and that high BBIQ is translating nicely as a NBE HC.

The March 3 Seton Hall game is suddenly looking a lot more important.
Anything can happen but a 1 game lead over Marquette and Creighton is both unexpected and nice. A little wiggle room never hurts imo.

I'm putting Kalkbrenner and Scheirman on my Collin Gillespie, guys I love to hate, team.
Yeah, interesting — Kalkbrenner doesn’t get under my skin at all, where Scheirman could have potential… Collin Gillespie - now that guy…
