Selection Sunday - General discussion (merged threads)

Was it Ohio State that didn’t look that thrilled to be in this bracket? If yes, I really can’t blame them. But UC has a tough bracket. They win handily in their first game. Then Iowa State with Crooks will be a tough game. I think Brenda and Maryland beat North Carolina. Ohio State and Vandy in the part. With Shea’s team advancing.

I don't understand why the #1 seed plays the highest 2 seed (Vandy).
Last season weren't we the highest 2 seed and played the lowest 1 seed (SoCal)???

NCAA prioritizes teams that finish top 4 in the same conference being placed in different brackets. SC/Texas were both 1 seeds so they avoid putting Vandy/LSU in the same bracket with them, meaning UCONN was always going to get either Vandy or LSU. I think LSU is the more dangerous opponent.

UConn has a cakewalk.

UCLA has the toughest 2 and a surprise (and toughest) 3. They’ll have to earn it either way.

Texas has the toughest 5 in a healthy Kentucky, but 1 shouldn’t lose to a 5.

Carolina has a likely rematch with Oklahoma, toughest 4. Assuming Iowa is 2, TCU 3. Tested programs, but idk that either is a bad matchup.

This selection committee is turrible....

Well...can't say I love Washington's chances at beating South Dakota St. #6 seed is better than I thought they would get, but the opponent is battle tested and VERY used to playing in the Tourney.

Would have rather face some new teams if we advance..... lots of potential rematches... you definitely don't see this in the men's tournament.
Yeah, but the men's selection committee likes to play lots of games with their potential match ups too. They like a compelling side story.

So who got left out? BYU and Utah from the Big 12. Thankfully Mississippi St. from the SEC.
