Much less worried about Iowa State than I am about the 2nd game against FAU. I just checked their damn schedule. Holy heck. They played some close games in losses against good teams:

They had closes losses to Arizona and Illinois. These results show they are a very competitive team.
They beat Arizona.

Cripes. North Carolina got Arizona, Baylor and Alabama as their 2-4.

Baylor lost 10 games. Alabama lost 11. Both lost by double digits in the conference tourney. Arizona limped home and lost to a not-even-on-the-bubble Oregon team in the PAC 12.

Seems crazy that the worst 1 by a mile has the softest regional.

Metrics only say so much. Iowa State is a joke of a team. I’ve watched multiple ISU Illinois and Auburn games and I’m just not concerned. We did a very good job of avoiding teams that can smash it from 3 and get Clingan in space except BYU. We got great matchups. Matchups win tournaments not metrics.
At the end of the day we will have to win the games in front of us. The large conferences threatening to break away and have their own tournament might well be impacting leagues like the Big East in terms of bids and seeds. Smaller conference teams like Indiana State and Seton Hall were the ones snubbed.

God, imagine how Iowa State, Auburn, and Illinois feel. They ran the table at the end, looked extremely impressive, and get rewarded with shots at each other, and then us.

And additionally for them to play UConn in Boston, which will be pretty much a home game for the Huskies. Reversing the perspective here doesn't do those schools any favors in the bracket either. Hopefully in the end it's they who will feel screwed just like Michigan State vs the 2014 Husky champions at MSG did afterwards.

You don't follow college basketball, do you?
played marquette without their best player twice and then they should beat a fraudulent creighton team at home.

so the only really tough games were against marquette and at creighton. they didn't play any other tournament teams.

what am i missing?

uconn will be fine because they are really strong, but it might be a worry for a half or so of their first real game.

i know ball pal.

I would like to see a stat on how conf winners perform vs conf tourney winners in the NCAAs. Anyone see that?

I still like that the first 4 games should basically be home games

This was last year's sweet 16. How many ACC teams do you see? How many BE? Which team from which conference mopped the floor with everyone and won it all? Now...which conference was robbed?

East Region: No. 3 Kansas State, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 7 Michigan State, No. 9 Florida Atlantic

Midwest Region: No. 1 Houston, No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Xavier, No. 5 Miami

South Region: No. 1 Alabama, No. 5 San Diego State, No. 6 Creighton, No. 15 Princeton

West Region: No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Gonzaga, No. 4 UConn, No. 8 Arkansas
