SEC 25-26

Blakes also playing herself out of NPOY consideration. Her 1st half stats 0-10, 1 point from the FT line, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers, 3 personal fouls…… 😱

Does this hurt Shea does COY?

Coach Yo doing Coach Yo things! She always has her team hyped and ready to play. Vandy has zero answers. Let's see how the 2nd half goes.

LSU thumping seventh ranked and projected three seed Oklahoma, plus Vandy's 17 point first half and double digit loss to Ole Miss, should mean that Vandy moves to UConn's bracket and LSU moves to UCLA's bracket, for the time being at least.

Saturday should be an exciting day, especially with LSU versus South Carolina and Ole Miss likely going up against Texas.

Win over Texas as well. But unless the Longhorns lay an egg tonight against Bama, Vandy will be seeded behind SC, TX & LSU for the Big Dance

True. But, LSU split with Texas. If the committee is comparing LSU and Vandy straight up, Vandy has the win in their lone meeting; that was my point.

The committee's reveal was as of Saturday's games ending on February 28. They had Vandy at 5 overall, and LSU at 7 overall. On Sunday, Vandy picks up a Q1 win at Tennessee; LSU gets a Q2 win at MIss. State, I think. So, advantage gained by Vandy to end the regular season.

Today, Vandy loses to Ole Miss for the second time this season. LSU picks up its second win over Top 15 Oklahoma.

If LSU beats South Carolina, then they for sure move above Vandy. If not, then the committee splits hairs with those recent wins/losses since last Sunday to determine their final ranking.

I’m still annoyed we’d have to go through LSU-Texas to win the tourney. No idea how Vandy finished ahead of them.

Since Vandy beat LSU on the road and Texas at home, I'd say that played a big part in finishing ahead of them . . . 🤣

Technically, they finished tied with Texas in the conference standings, but had the head-to-head tie-breaker for conference seeding.

I am aware seeding is decided by W-L

Did Texas really need to play their starters so many minutes?

I was worried SCar might be sluggish, but seems Texas didn't get any rest at all.

Were you able to watch the game? Ole Miss went on a bit of a run to end the third quarter trailing only by 2 points. So, Texas needed to rely on its starters to help re-gain some separation in the fourth quarter; that really didn't happen until the last 3 minutes of the game. Texas pushed it to an 8-point lead with 6 minutes remaining only a 7-point lead at the 4 minute mark. So, 3 starting backcourt players logged 36+ minutes; the two front-court starters logged 12 minutes and 10 minutes.

I, for one, was glad to see a close game since South Carolina also had to heavily rely on its starters against LSU. 😆

I have a feeling today's game is going to be a low-scoring rock fight on tired legs with some uncharacteristic missed layups.

When the third quarter ended with Texas up only 2 points after watching a double-digit lead disappear, I think Vic had to make a decision as to the consequence of winning/losing to Ole Mis. Winning pretty much guaranteed the fourth 1-seed in the NCAA tourney; so, he probably decided he had to sell out to win that game and not worry (at that point) about too many minutes for Booker, Lee, and Harmon.

While everyone wants that conference tournament championship, yesterday was the vital win for Texas as far as NCAA tournament. There is still a lot to play for today. Some seem to believe that South Carolina is set at #3 overall regardless of today's outcome; Creme and myself disagree. If Texas wins today, we'd have beaten South Carolina twice on the season to their one win over us. All other metrics favor Texas. Winning the conference championship today would be a great achievement; but, getting the #3 overall seed has a couple of key advantages: not being on UConn's side of the bracket; being placed in the Fort Worth TX regional instead of Sacramento.

Kudos to Ole Miss playing a close game deep into the fourth even though it was obvious they were plain exhausted through out the game.

Will be interesting to see how much the fatigue factor affects how much Texas gets into their full court press defense.

I didn't see it. Had a bingo engagement. Seriously. I had to skip dinner just to watch Carolina.

Looked like they played the big girl 30 minutes, which could be a factor.

These tend to be ugly anyway so a Sunday matinee on tired legs could be another.
