While that's certainly true, once you get past the top 7-8, the bottom of the SEC is truly miserable. I can see the bottom 2 in the league winning only one or 2 conference games.

9-12 is probably Alabama, Miss State and Georgia which probably won't be terrible at all.

I'd match those up against most any league.
 
Well, genuinely have not worried about foul trouble anytime lately and looks like that might be a thing now.

Hopefully this team will play its best basketball down the stretch.

when I watch Tennessee it's just one gimmick.

I know it's a good one, but they just don't really have anything else.

As shaky as I feel about my own team I'm worried about them..but I just overall don't get it.

They're recruiting some good players. Just not sure why you would want them to play like that.

I agree with you. It’s a high-variance style of play. Hard to reach the level of consistency needed to reach a Final Four that way. And to Kim Caldwell’s credit, that’s now a near-term goal for Tennessee.

I’m a big fan of Caldwell and think her hire will age like wine for UT, but those highly specific styles of play seem to work better for schools like Marshall, FGCU, and West Virginia that don’t recruit at an elite level nationally. Tennessee pretty clearly can do that now. Will be interesting to see if she adapts her system.

Tennessee has 8 new players. So it will take time. I think Caldwell will get this team playing at a high level.

Probably didn't help anything having all that Ruby Whitehorn drama going on for so long. Good decision by the coach I think to part ways with her.

This aged badly. Fulwiley is a bench player and had 6 points and 13 minutes off the bench in 115-26 win. Only 1 player had less minutes... 3-7 and 0-3 in 3pointers. Geez...

From my experience, Fulwiley is a player who's performance ebbs and flows with her excitement levels, so I'm not surprised with this result. In short, she is a player who gets high with the highs and low with the lows.

Fulwiley will eventually start over Jada Richard, Mulkey is giving her (Jada) every opportunity but has definitely been not very good in her two games thus far. I bet by Duke/SEC play it'll be a different PG eventually.

I never see Fulwiley as a SEC POY type of player but certainly potentially an all conference player. For me my favorite part of this new LSU team is their newcomers, specifically the true freshmen. Great basketball IQ, talented and play hard. Mulkey will be tasked with trying to keep many of them happy this year.

I don't see that happening. Fulwiley plays fast and good or fast and bad. Mulkey is not going to start her with her incontinency. She will bring her off the bench (like Dawn did) and hope for the good and fast rather than the bad and fast. Fulwiley will leave after 1 year at LSU. Bank it.

Idk jada Richard isn’t better than Fulwiley if we want to talk about consistency. It’ll prob change eventually if Jada doesn’t step it up quick. Fulwiley bad is still probably better than most Jada days

I guess time will tell. Kim does a lot of weird stuff. Like I never understood Kim starting Trinity Oliver at Baylor only for Carrington to come in off the bench to get the starters minutes

By this outlook, Mikaylah Williams is a bench player too. She only had 8 in the same game. Fulwiley took good shots in the game and made good decisions and was under control. Just wasn't dropping. Even had a lay up that rolled around and out. Just a weird night, it happens, but her stat line wasn't indicative of how she actually played and that's ok.

And she led them in scoring and was second in minutes in their first game. Going to follow the oft quoted adage and not mud wrestle with you, but very strange and overly aggressive response after a couple of times can blowouts.

The statement that was made was she could be POY in the SEC at LSU. What you just said confirms everything I said... she is inconsistent from the beginning to the end. Mulkey won't start her until that happens (consistency) and that is not going to happen. Fulwiley will sulk and her mom will encourage her to chase the money elsewhere. Fulwiley wants to be a highlight reel in a sport that calls for team play. She got away with it all her years in high school and it's who she is. This is a much more talented arena than what she was used to. I don't think she is capable of playing any other way. We shall see.
 
Looks like Arkansas is going to survive. Good game going on with Oklahoma at UCLA. Oklahoma playing very physical ball but Chavez and Beers have both had to sit some with 2 fouls apiece in first half.
