I would like our point guard to have more than 4.1 assists per game. 4.1 per tied Cole for 108th in assists per game last year. It's okay but not dynamic.

Fun fact, of the 229 players in D1 last year who scored at least 15 points per game, RJ was 29th in APG

Funner fact, Tristen Newton was 9th

This includes the guys who put up huge stats on bad teams/nobody schools. RJ is 5th on that same list in AST/TO

Hawkin's release is so quick --- if he can continue his handle & bolster his shot off the dribble? Scary.

Love seeing the intensity of these scrimmages --- game ready in August, means win ready in November.

Interestingly enough, Jalen is the only guy over the last decade to average over 5 assists per game for us. Our last 2 Nattys, we didn’t have a PG averaging over 5 assists per game either

Crazy to think Shabazz or Kemba didn’t average over 5 assists a game.

Not more talented than Jalen Adams, but a better player and leader.

Gaffney was a mirage to those who were sick of AG and Vital turning it over first half of the year. He basically played ok based on his doing nothing to force any TOs. After AG sat behind him his impact was much better than Gaffney as defense counted too for those who cared to watch that side. We saw who JG was once we wanted more than just anyone who didn't make stupid plays. When asked to stop the east to west game he was the same as those guys.

When you have two de facto point guards, the assists per game of either one are going to get diluted. Just an observation.
