I did exactly the same thing! Also that first physical banging drive in the video made me google the roster and was like "I don't know what all these guys look like, which big is #2,"
Oh nvm, it's our giant point guard.

URGENT I need a scrimmage fix
this post deserves the record for likes (for everyone over thirty at least)
This. Look how long it took RJ Cole to get adjusted to the speed. We knew he could score. Was worth the wait.My worry about Karaban is the adjustment to the speed and physicality of the college game. But his basketball IQ and shooting are really good so at some point it will click. Just how long will that adjustment period take? It's the question I have for every freshman.

Fair. I probably should’ve just said in their thirties. Older than that there might be an explanation needed for why you were watching 3 Ninjas. As someone in the over 30 crowd (and then some) I'll go with the flow and pretend I have any idea what show or movie this references.
I was very high on Hall last year, and In retrospect, Seton Hall's talent was overrated and their shooting was lacking.Seton Hall was loaded imo last year and they couldn’t put it together. That’s my worry about this team too. But Hurley is a better coach than Willard
If I remember correctly we could have had RJ or Bones Hyland. RJ had to sit a year but stayed for 3 total. Bones didn’t have to sit but went to the NBA after 2 years. Both were good options and RJ had the strong relationship with HurleyScrew it. We have time between now and when they dump the third scrimmage video.
What was worth the wait? I have little doubt RJ became the best player he could be for UConn and did everything he could on the court for team success but there were zero BE titles and zero NCAA tourney wins.
Part 2
And without RJ Cole you'd be adding zero NCAA tournament berths to that sentence. Which was absolutely worth the waitScrew it. We have time between now and when they dump the third scrimmage video.

He caught the ball off Newton's make at around the 10 second mark2. Didn’t see Alex anywhere, but that might be on me. Anyone else see him? Would suck if he was injured.
1. I don't think you can make that assumption from a hype video with selected cuts. Those 3 Sanogo baskets they showed, 2 jump shots and a dunk, could have been his only 2 outside shots and he hit 15 other shots very close to the basket. My observations:
1. How many post finishes in these 2 videos for Sanogo? Don might be having a Kalkbrenner type impact on defense.
2. Didn’t see Alex anywhere, but that might be on me. Anyone else see him? Would suck if he was injured.

Still odd our best player, who plays in the post, has no post highlights. I know they aren’t exciting plays, but still.1. 2. Watch again. Alex is in a bunch of the highlights on defense. He's #10, which is interesting because he's #11 on the roster.

It sucks that we got to that point as a program but we did. Obviously that time is over and we need to start winning in March now. But you trashed RJ Cole from the day he stepped onto campus so I didn't expect you to stop nowI'll pretend as a UConn fan I should appreciate NCAA tournament selections with zero wins at an appreciably higher level than not making NCAA tourney. But I don't .
Watching that vid got me seriously pumped up, but I have to take a deep breath and curb my enthusiasm!
Realistically though, which lead guard was RJ Cole better/more talented than that started for us over the past 20 years? It sucks that we got to that point as a program but we did. Fun game. Cole was 1st team all league in new Big East and led us to a fairly high seed, so anyone that didn't achieve something equivalent is pretty easy to say that Cole is better.Realistically though, which lead guard was RJ Cole better/more talented than that started for us over the past 20 years?
I’d agree with Sterling. I remember screaming at my tv for Ollie to start Jalen over him. I’d agree with alterique too even though the one year he actually played I’d say Vital was the guy.Fun game. I'd say...
Sterling Gibbs (shout out Purvis for reminding me that Gibbs was the lead guard that year over Jalen Adams)
Alterique Gilbert
Based on production and achievement you can debate Jalen Adams also, but that would likely be a matter of opinion. Marcus Williams and Taliek Brown weren't all league, but their teams were too good to think that they weren't better than Cole.
