I am sitting in Plantation, Florida enjoying the Thanksgiving weekend with my son
AND watching my beloved Lady Huskies in HD on SNY. Consider this
to be my formal mea culpa for questioning Uconn's decision to
leave CPTV.

I enjoyed the game from South Bend!! It was beautiful. And the announcing is much better; there is a actual game calling, even when up by 30. I hope that trend continues and that they get even more locked down onto the action of the play.

OK, I know I'm being pedantic, but it just grates! Please, no "Lady" in the name of the team. They are the UConn Huskies [period]. The "Ladies" include the Bears, the Bulldogs and the Vols, NOT the Huskies.
[Rant over]
Its great that more folks can see the team live on SNY now. Its gonna be an exciting year... ENJOY!

BuckarooB - Inquiring minds want to know why you're not at the game. Some might also want to know why, if they are so beloved, you don't know the name of the team.

There is no doubt the streaming has improved significantly. I didn't notice the frequent frame freezing that used to drive me nuts. But then I missed the begging during timeout and half time. Always love those UConn sweats. Wonder what they look like this year?

I knew that using the descriptor "Lady Huskies"
would subject me to criticism. But I am hoary
with age, have been going to games for 14
years and am irascibly politically incorrect.
Let an old man express his admiration and
affection for these remarkable young women
who will to me always be the Lady Huskies.

Just wonder why they are the Lady Huskies to you? I don't think old really has anything to do with it. Don't recall them ever being known as the Lady Huskies. I mean if you are making up a name, why that one?

I am in Nashville, Tn, and watched the Huskies for years on CPTV streaming. I suffered with the poor streaming, and now, I watch on 42" TV, (Direct TV) SNY, and love it. Sorry, I also have to object to "LADY" Huskies. That is for Lady Vols, and Lady Bears. Our Huskies are basketball players.

Not irascibly politically incorrect, just stupid.

Well here I go back on my soapbox. All these folks all over the country (including my own sister in KY) who can now watch the UCONN Womens games but those of us who live near by (I'm in Western MA) who have followed this team for 10+ years and now because my cable company does not carry SNY I am no longer able to watch this team on TV anyway and I refuse to pay those bas**ds any money to watch it on my computer. I shouldn't have to! I couldn't be more frustrated by this change from CPTV to SNY. Worst decision ever!!!

Heck-I can go 1 better than that! We used to live in Jackson, TN, (moved to Va in 05) and my wife, daughter and I went to see UConn vs. UT in Knoxville, (DT scored 33, I think!) ON THE LADY VOLS FAN CLUB BUS!!! What a GREAT ride home THAT was!!!!

BuckarooB - Most of us are "hoary with age" and going to games for 14 years makes you a newbie.

Alexmia...Sorry, but I disagree. You are not entitled to view the game for free. Jobs are generated by the viewing sources, and employees working have earned, and are owed, a gainful living.

Thank you. Get DirecTV, buy the sports pack, and bask in the awesomeness.

I believe the Vols deleted ''Ladies'' from their name a few years ago.

Worst decision For You. There are many of us who paid for and put up with CPTV's streaming as the only way to see games. So for a few bucks you can buy streaming like we did or complain and not see games. Your choice.

Fantastic decision for UCONN to switch from CPTV to SNY. I live in CA and have ATT U-verse. For an extra $10 per month, I can add the sports package which includes SNY. Granted they don't offer the HD channel to me, but none the less, not only do I get the women's games, but the men's games too (or at least the ones not on national TV).

This is fantastic for so many reasons, but foremost is that parents, relatives, and friends of kids who choose to play at UCONN can now see every single game. This is huge and as Warde pointed out, a great marketing tool for Geno to use when recruiting kids not in the greater CT (ie. CPTV) market.

Imagine how great it must be for Moriah's or Kaleena's parents to be able to see every single game from Texas or CA. For the poster whose cable company doesn't offer SNY, maybe it's time to switch to ATT-Uverse, or Dish, or DirecTV. I can't speak for the two satellite providers, but i'm betting they offer SNY too.

Alexmia - Don't whine, just switch providers! You can negotiate prices more than you can imagine when you are offering yourself as a new customer. SNY is FANtastic!! DirecTV even has deals where they will give you $200 to cover any expenses you have to drop your current company. You'll be half way through you first game and asking yourself why you didn't do it earlier. I've had SNY through DirecTV, local cable, and now AT&T Uverse - - all worked great! Time to move on...

Anyone who thinks that moving to SNY from CPTV was a bad decision is in a minority. I say this as a Mets fan that remembers when SNY first started and Charter didn't carry it so I couldn't watch any Mets games living in SW CT. Then when SNY picked up UConn Men's basketball, I was at UConn and we didn't get SNY there. That meant no Mets and no UConn. But guess what? Charter in that part of the state picked up SNY. Adding more content will make it more compelling for more markets to start carrying SNY albeit at a higher cost but hey, nothing is free.

There's another choice, too. You can pay the 60 bucks -- not a huge price for 20 or so games -- and then you complain if, like us, you are fighting to be able to see the full screen and have jerky reception which makes it looks like watching the game through a series of still photos. And we have the highest-powered internet system available from our provider and our computer supposedly has plenty of memory, according to SNY's minimum specs.
