This seems like a game this squad needed to win. A grind from the first jump ball. Even though both teams had trouble tonight this is the type of win as a program you need going into end of the season. Proud of the Huskies tonight!

Great game. Paige is terrific. That’s the kind of game our two teams should always play. First time we’ve really been pressed a whole game. NCState was the third game and we really didn’t have much figured out. Hope everybody stays healthy. See you in San Antonio.

Some thoughts on the SC game:

• UConn WBB fans live for matchups like this one. From a pure basketball standpoint this was one ugly game. As a UConn WBB fan, this was a thing of beauty.
• Another really slow start on offense for the Huskies against the Gamecocks. Some of it was tough defense by SC and some of it was simply nerves. Fortunately, UConn played great defense and that kept them in the game.
• I really love the fact that our 3 freshmen all played like they absolutely belong in a game like this against a top opponent.
• Aubrey came up HUGE off the bench.
• UConn needs to work on setting screens without moving.
• Assuming UConn runs the table in the BE, the Huskies should be the #1 overall seed for the Big Dance.
• Let's restart that thread again about Paige as the NPOY. THE LEGEND GROWS!!!

OMG. All I can say is wow. Paige willed the Huskies to this victory. Nika and Aliyah were stout. The Freshmen are the heart of this team.

UCONN would be in a world of hurt without Bueckers. Some of her shots tonight were huge...but that last THREE-pointer. They'll be replaying that shot over and over the rest of her career at UCONN.

Exactly. Literally no one else on our team was in double figures!!! Don't think we've had a game this year where only one player was in double figures.

Paige literally put the team on her back and willed them to victory. What an incredible effort by her and our Freshmen.

I wish that they would drive to the basket in the first quarter. A foul or two on Boston would have changed the whole game. Great game!

Hats off to the team for grinding this one out. Most on the UCONN team had a poor scoring night. An opportunity to get better and keep the #1 ranking through the rest of the season! Go Huskies!

WOW what a game.

Many things stood out. End of game and start of OT, no ONO or Williams on the floor. BUT...

Paige Freak-n' Bueckers. Not only was she the best player on the floor, but it wasn't even close. A trio of 30 point + scoring games in a row. Just unreal. She was due for some luck with that lats 3 point shot. Not only did she solidify her spot as 1st team AA, but she should be the leader for NPOY. Unreal. I can't believe how blessed we are that she plays for UCONN.

End of game and Evina, 1 sophomore, 3 freshmen. The future is here.

Can't say enough about the effort from Nika and Aubrey and Aaliyah. They were just fantastic. Played so hard, clutch, not scared.

A bit of a sloppy, low scoring, defensive-minded game from both teams. UCONN was just a tiny bit better, and that was without shooting the 3 at all, not to mention dreadful FT shooting. CONGRATS to the new #1 team in the nation!!!

What happen to Evina and Christy?...almost not existent on offense. CW needs an eye exam...she could not even hit the rim at times.

This game was a WAR between two great teams. FYI, SC has only 1 senior on their team, so we can look forward to a bunch of these battles in the years to come.

Defibrilator put away until final Four I hope. Some people are calling this a fun game. Very stressful!!! Who else but Paige could back rim a 3 and still have it go in? She went 1 for 6 on tree's as in the Tennesse game and also waited until the end of the game with the shot lock winding down. Paige get's another A+ , Nika a solid B+ , Aubrey an awesome B+ off the bench, Olivia a B too many flankers but some nice assists, Christyn B- a few baskets when needed., And a C for Evina"Where are you?" Westbrook. Fun game my ?. Awesome game
