ThisNever really heard of sitting a 20 year old for a whole game for fatigue.
Probably either a small nagging injury or some other reason for it. Raven seemed in good spirits so nothing serious.

She said Raven could’ve played. I doubt it’s an injury. And you seen how Raven played in Utah game, multiple turnovers, open missed layups. You could tell she was tired, she’s human, idc how old she is, fatigue can still take over. So let her rest for a day and get back to work Tuesday. Now, if she miss Tuesday then that’s where the concern comes inDawn doesn’t lie, it’s just a thought that when she says she is resting a young player there may be several meanings you can take from resting a player, and like the poster above said, never heard of a 20 year old player being kept out for fatigue for an entire game.
Coaches do not always share everything with the media, again, maybe just people reading into it too much. But it would surprise no one if it was a minor injury or other, unless of course she has or had symptoms of mono or some such similar “fatigue” issue, which we just do not see often. Nobody said Dawn was lying, take a breather here.
Probably pulled all-nighters during finals. Ah, college….She said Raven could’ve played. I doubt it’s an injury. And you seen how Raven played in Utah game, multiple turnovers, open missed layups. Could be times are changing and coaches are prioritize health - both mental and physical. Doubtful it's an injury, nagging or otherwise. Exam week, grueling couple of games prior to the end of the semestser. Even with sitting yesterday out, Raven leads the team in minutes played with 265. She plays full throttle every minute she is in a game and you more often than not see her "encouraging" her teammates to get down the court in front of her faster. Dawn often says she has to slow her down. I'm sure many coaches would love the luxury of being able to rest their PG1 before conference play. As someone else said - if she doesn't play at Bowling Green Tuesday then it is more than rest and we'll find out at that time. Raven did sit out an entire year due to an injury and it's possible the staff wants to be mindful of her minutes moving forward now that the team is geling more. I'll take what Coach Staley says at face value.Never really heard of sitting a 20 year old for a whole game for fatigue.

She had a really good game yesterday. Confidence is growing, she's moving her feet well and ran the floor twice with the ball in her hands. Tossed in a beautiful layup after switching from her right to left hand. Flashed her nice little face-up shot. She's going to play valuable minutes during conference games and be an asset! Coach Staley seems very pleased with her progress.Sakima puzzles me. She cannot hang on to the ball and gets pushed around too much under the basket. I know she will only get stronger under Molly but last night was a time for her to shine against the lesser level of competition but she did not score a point :/
I never watched any of her games with her junior college ... did they use her in a different way?
Yes I agree she played much better. She had a really good game yesterday. Confidence is growing, she's moving her feet well and ran the floor twice with the ball in her hands. Iowa’s 14,998 number is static. They’ve averaged exactly that number for every game and have no more seats. SC was over 16,000 for MD, CU, Morgan St. games and only under 15,000 for SD St and MVSU. Rest of the home schedule is SEC + UConn, which I expect most of the SEC games, if not all, will average 16,000+, and of course UConn should be a sell out or close to it. I expect Iowa to outdraw SC in the 2 first week NCAA games but not by anywhere nearly enough to overtake the Gamecocks for the season.Still hanging on in lean for attendance! (15,590) Iowa bringing it though. (14,998) LSU, UConn and Iowa State also over 10,000

It's been fun watching them grow this season. Both of them are starting to look very comfortable on the court and playing in the flow of things. I felt like both Hall and Kitts were forcing shots at the beginning of the season but now they are letting the game come to them.Chloe Kitts was amazing tonight. Bree Hall had a nice game also.
I’m pulling for Fred’s team the rest of the way….Nice sellout crowd of 4,397 for Fred’s team
Her jumper looks great. Shout out to Dawn Staley. Starting her over Watkins and Feagin. Also in the beginning of the season saying Kitts decision to come early made her be further along than she would've been had she waited. Even playing her at the 4. She's only going to get better. Also shout out to Kamila on the high low passes. She throws darts seemingly without much hesitancy. It's a somewhat underrated part of her game.Chloe Kitts was amazing tonight. Kitts really is developing fast, faster than I expected and I was a big homer for her to begin with. I was somewhat worried she would be buried behind Watkins and Feagin and not get an opportunity to shine. After watching her over the summer on Team USA, I was hopeful she had taken the leap. Yeah my preseason assumption was all wrong. I thought she would be backing up Hall in the wing and doing mop up duty at the 4 in blowouts.Kitts really is developing fast, faster than I expected and I was a big homer for her to begin with. Honestly, the biggest disappointment this season has been Feagin. I had such high hopes that she would turn the corner and it doesn't seem like it has happened.
Feagin seems very happy at SC and looks to be a great teammate but if you’re going off high school rankings and hype, I think her on-court career has been a disappointment of sorts. She may not have professional aspirations and that’s okay.Feagin just hasn't progressed too much and there isn't much urgency there. I think she is as talented as anyone on the roster.
If she's content with it I guess that's all right too.
I agree 100%. She has underperformed as a top recruit. That may have to do with the underdevelopment of the other players on the team from high school to college. The staff knows how to develop talent it seems. Some peak in high school while other peak in college.Feagin seems very happy at SC and looks to be a great teammate but if you’re going off high school rankings and hype, I think her on-court career has been a disappointment of sorts. The frosh feel love the love, he was there during the recruitments lolWill the gals lighten up against Uncle Fred tonight?
The frosh, Tehina and Sakima might not feel the love. Start them!
Got a particularly big hugs and receptions from Tessa and Chloe. Breezy also looked very happy to see him and give him a hug.The frosh feel love the love, he was there during the recruitments lol
Good for Chole. I know at the start of the season there was questions on "who to start?" and it is never easy, but I am glad that things are working out for South Carolina because I am enjoying listening to the naysayers, the so-called traditionalist, and a host of other non-women basketball fans whine about South Carolina and other teams. Coach Staley got the haters Big MAD right now and I am loving it!!Her jumper looks great. Shout out to Dawn Staley. Starting her over Watkins and Feagin. Kinda crazy the way we’re shooting the 3 ball right now. Honestly feels nice to be well rounded on both sides of the ball. We’ve had good or decent offenses before, but never this balanced I don’t think.Tessa passed PaoPao for the 3pt % lead. 53.8 to 52.8.
Remarkable that the team is shooting 41%.
Which is what Bree Hall shoots.
Team average is being brought down by Fulwiley's 31%. She's both unorthodox and a little inconsistent in how she lines them up, but can make them when's on.
