Holy cow, I turned it around the end of the 3rd with aTm up around 15. Just assumed Blair and crew finished it.
We only scored 6 in the 4th quarter. Arkansas figured out that they could leave players relatively undefended and collapse on the post entries. We turned it over in ways that allowed them to run.

UW came back from 14 down in Q2 yesterday, but I kinda doubt Stanford would fall apart like OSU did. Stanford jumped out to a 12-3 lead, Dawgs can't lose contact right out of the gate.

I'll second that, as did Graves after the game, which was in many ways a replay of last year's semifinal, which Oregon won by 3. Whatever happens tomorrow, I think the Ducks will be very glad to go home Monday and have some time to rest and heal. I do think that Hebard is still a bit slower than she was and doesn't jump as well as she did prior to the knee injury, but she is still money in the paint and a true warrior. I also felt that, with the pick and rolls being defended so well by UCLA, Graves made a important adjustment by having Sabally especially throw the ball to her over the top.
I was thinking during the second half that I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Hebard score on so many lob passes before.

20-10 Stanford at the end of Q1. I think the clock is gonna strike midnight a little early for Cinderella tonight.

Huh. Stanford was up 33-16, UW couldn't hit anything, looking like a laugher. But they got a couple trips to the FT line, all of sudden got some momentum and are back to within 33-25. Game isn't quite over yet. Stanford had been playing smothering defense up til that point.

Jeez, Carrington just hit a 3/4 court heave at the buzzer, 40-31 at the half. She also got away w/ a MASSIVE push off, how in the world the refs don't call that I have no idea. MASSIVE push off. Oh well. Peterson has been invisible but Melgoza is feeling it so far. Alanna is having a good game but has had some bench time due to 2 fouls.

51-40 Stanford midway thru Q3. Melgoza is really heating up, she has 22, but nobody else is doing anything. She dropped 40 on Stanford at the tail end of last season. 14 for Smith, 11 for Carrington. Stanford is 9-17 behind the arc.

I am not rooting for Arkansas tomorrow but a part of me wants them to do well. I have to admire how Mike Neighbors keeps his team in the game even when I think they are done. I have always wanted MSST to totally destroy the opponent but I just want a win where both teams play well and I would love Arkansas to get an NCAA bid!

61-46 Stanford thru Q3. 11-19 behind the arc but no FT attempts, that's kind of crazy. Melgoza cooled off, missed her last 3 shots. Peterson is scoreless still. Smith is up to 19 to go along w/ 9 boards. 12 for Williams, 11 for Carrington.

UW has cut a 22 point deficit down to 12, and it's not because Stanford cleared their bench. Dawgs just won't quit. Melgoza up to 32 points. Dodson having her best game in a long time, 14 points. 4 starters in double figures for the Card, only 1 for UW.

72-61 final. Much more competitive than the last meeting between the 2 teams. 21 points and 12 boards for Smith.

The way Arkansas played in this tournament has been fantastic!

If they could keep this up through a NCAA run it would be double fantastic!

Chelsea Dungee is the next Diana Taurasi!

I guess I'll watch UCLA-Oregon to the end, but the game so far has been awfully ugly. Haven't seen UCLA play before -- like watching football scrimmage. If Danger shot as many unsuccessful 3s as Ionescu someone would start a What's Wrong with Crystal thread.

Also, I'm getting a headache from the PAC-12 network picture, which looks like they're broadcasting from the 1970s. Can barely identify the players on the floor.

It's likely because the PAC12 pays $6.9 million a year for posh grade AAA office lease space in DT SF, after a move from a suburban location. Commissioner Larry Scott also makes far more money than any other P5 conference commish. He's apparently well on his way to bankrupting the conference, while laughing all the way to his bank. He's also alienated most if not all of the PAC12 ADs, and can't get anybody to buy his insanely overpriced PAC12 Network content.

They've got to save money somewhere, which may be why PAC12 Network TV production quality suffers.

Was Gustovson terrific in both games or what....she was pushed, held, shoved, mugged for both games. She won the wrestling arch and the ball game.

Gustafson is so consistently reliable. Quite a player!
