Saturday 2nd round thread

must suck for mid major leagues like the big east that the sec schools, who don't even care about basketball, just decided a few years ago they wanted to be good and now they pretty much dominate a lot of the ncaa tournament.
Are you guys really still in a league with UCF? Ugh.

Anyway, the SEC has won the championship ONCE in the last 15 years.

The current BE teams have won it FOUR times.

ACC FIVE times.

Big12 won it THREE times.

SEC is LAST of the serious basketball leagues.

Cronin is lucky ND isn't in the tournament this year. Coaching one team and being the mascot for another sounds tough.

I hate watching this Bama - Maryland game. Good defense my foot, this is bad offense.

Has an ivy team ever made it to sweet 16?
How quickly we forget Bill Bradley. Look who Princeton beat to get to the final four.

1965 NCAA tournament: Scores

  • Regional Finals
    • East Region
      • Princeton 109, Providence 69
    • Mideast Region
      • Michigan 87, Vanderbilt 85
    • Midwest Region
      • Wichita State 54, Oklahoma State 46
    • West Region
      • UCLA 101, San Francisco 93

Ucla just lost another starter in singleton (ankle). Hadn’t watched them yet this season but they aren’t impressing. It’s a 3 man show with jaquez Bailey and Campbell. They are only gonna go 7 deep now and the two bench guys average a combined 2 ppg.

Big10 = zero

the purple dorks couldnt get it done smh

Northwestern is a weird place, they have some of the nicest sports facilities in the country and they have all the money in the world yet they're somehow not serious about sports. They're building a $800 million football stadium that's only going to seat 35,000 which is 12,000 less than their current stadium.

$800 million sounds like they are pretty serious about sports to me.

Can anyone remember a Kevin Willard team that wasn't mentally soft? Holloway is a huge upgrade over this marshmellow of a coach.

Cronin is the king of those half-assed backhanded compliments. Likely not sincere but sincereish enough that folks can still call him a "good guy" and he's got plausible deniability if/when he gets called out for it. Used to drive me nuts when he would pull that crap on UConn back in the OBE / AAC days during those stretches when we were neck-and-neck with Cincy or they had the upper hand. Always after Cincy wins, of course.

Alabama just toyed with the Terps like they were a bored cat batting around a wounded mouse. Wasn't particularly impressed with them but it felt like there was really zero chance of them ever losing, even when they fell behind. Maryland just couldn't get their ish together.

All private money from rich Northwestern grads but it's not serious when you're in a conference that averages around 75,000 person stadiums and has 100,000 person stadiums.

So did I. For some reason I thought Reuben Egg Rolls sounded like a winner.
Maybe they were just made wrong. I actually love the things and make 'em myself. When I was doing cooking demos they were one of my most popular finger foods.
