If she gets hurt on this meaningless U frolic my head will explode.
Yes, she did.Did Sarah deliberately tip the ball like it was a pass to the guard that eventuall;y hit a 3 fot the 91st point?
She's played the 3rd fewest minutes on the team in this game. But had the second highest EEF rating.Steal—> Assist to Joyce Edwards by Sarah.
3/5 from the floor, 3/4 3 PT, 1 AST, 2 STL, 1 BLK. +18 efficiency. We got a good one folks.
Bad news: Strong is reportedly on minutes restriction due to possibility of threat of injury? Hoo boy.
Alivia Mc Gill also had a GREAT block and a wonderful pass for an assist!Yes, and looked pretty good.
4 points, 3 assists in 6 mins.
Yes, she plays chess while the rest are playing checkers.Did Sarah deliberately tip the ball like it was a pass to the guard that eventuall;y hit a 3 fot the 91st point?
Alivia Mc Gill is a Hopkins H.S. Grad, a 5' 9" a point guard, committed to U of Florida. She's a Hopkins HS product, isn't she?
I saw at least 2 steals by Sarah. Also, after her first block in the first half, Isarah as advertised but i was surprised to see is a ball hawk!sharp.
I think you are 100% out of position ...Sarah is 100% out of position though so her box score is to be taken with a grain of salt. She’s playing the 2 when she should be a 3-4, especially because her 3’s are off right now. She hasn’t taken one non-3 PT shot yet and they should probably adjust where she plays because she’s not a natural 2 guard.
That play was amazing. It happened so fast. To have the instncts/reaization to "see" where to pass the ball even before she touched the ball in which it was not a great pass to her, and yet the end result exeuction to tip it like a misdirection;- if the play is how I remember it -- just -- wow. I mean "wow."Yes, she plays chess while the rest are playing checkers.
She ran only to the perimeter on offensive plays. Barely stayed in the paint besides going for rebounds. Not a single shot attempt from under the basket. Kept putting her at the perimeter despite her ability to make an impact underneath. The whole time she was a 2. Typically, she’s a 3-4 who occasionally stretches out. That’s why she’s out of position. Team USA had a plethora of forwards already though so using her as a 2 isn’t unexpected.I think you are 100% out of position ...

Was she more of a forward/post player in the first half? I didn’t watch till the second, but I really didn’t see too much post play. A lot of the times she was running to the 3 point line. And all her shots were 3s.Sarah looked pretty good out there. I love her shooting stroke. The range. The footwork. Looking forward to the next match up for USA U18 and more of Sarah out there.
Watching that assist by SS after a nice steal and I saw something that you don't see at UCONN games. No acknowledgement from Edwards to Strong. That's something that has always impressed me when I watch Husky games - there is always an acknowledgementSteal—> Assist to Joyce Edwards by Sarah.

The court awareness and quick decisions are obviously there. I noticed several times after getting a rebound she was quickly looking to get the ball up court, not just a short pass or hand off to a guard. She also has the ability, like Nika, to immediately push the ball ahead herself after getting a rebound.Sarah dove on the floor for a loose ball and somehow made an outlet pass from a prone position.
Sounds like a typical UConn game. Sarah needs to get used to it.The officials are still calling touch fouls on the US, while looking the other way on Brazil's hard fouls.
Do you mean front court player doing outlet passes? I say that because Nika and Paige are pretty good at outlet passes to get the ball up the court. The court awareness and quick decisions are obviously there. I can't remember the last time we had a really good outlet passer, it seems to be a lost art, but I used to enjoy on the men's side players like Wes Unseld, Bill Walton, Dave Cowens, and Kevin Love who were all very good at it. Sarah also had a touch pass in that game, where you know where the next pass is going before you even receive the ball. That is a trait that good outlet passers have too. Unseld in particular was looking for a pass as he went up for a rebound, and frequently got rid of it before his feet cam down from the rebound.

This actually wasn't rocket science level strategy. Who would waste their best 3 point shooter by playing them in the low post? Was she more of a forward/post player in the first half? Bricks? Every one was right on the rim and I'll take 43% (3-7) from 3 anytime. Bueckers shot 42% from 3 this past season. Was that a season long slump?Well when the 3 point shooter misses/bricks four in a row it might be a good idea to put her somewhere where you know she can still make an impact while in a shooting slump.
