I’ve got a Hartley units nit to pick. Sarah is not 6’1”. UConn lists her at 6’2”. On the fiba site over the summer she was listed as 6’2 and 3/4s or something like that. From when they played together, it looked like Joyce Edwards was a little taller, maybe 6’3” even. It’s probably fair to say Sarah is a big 6’2”, and those long arms of hers make her seem even taller when she’s going for a rebound or a block.

That is a huge compliment for Sarah. She really is a very good player and right now is as good as anyone I have seen this year in college ball. I do think that playing the small lineup though will not benefit her growth and I hope Geno doesn't decide to use her like he did Paige. These kids deserve to be developed to play at the next level and for Sarah that is going to be a 3.
I think there is a lot more to being developed to play at the next level than what position one plays. I believe the concept of playing where you are needed most from a team perspective has worked very well for this basketball program as well as the players.

Actually, you need to look at the chart that HuskyNan posted #47. It shows that at 15 games in Tina Freshman season she averaged 8.5 rebounds while Ice and Jana average 8.6 combined rebounds. As the season progresses those two will improve their numbers, just like Tina did in her Freshman season.
I see that the numbers I got from sportsreference.com differ slightly from @HuskyNan , not sure why and not about to do my own math since they are close enough.

El-Affy and Brady improving their rpg is precisely what I am hoping for, so not sure what the point of contention is?

During Moore’s freshman year the center position was well covered from the start by BOTH Charles and McLaren (not sure why you keep comparing the output of one center to two). Moore did not have to play center, Strong does at times. I believe we will be better off if we can have the center position covered all the time without Strong, freeing up her versatility and savvy for other things. If Strong stops playing center from here on out because El-Affy and Brady covers it as well as Charles and McLaren, I doubt she surpasses Moore in rpg, which is just fine by me and not a reflection on her comparative talent. If Strong does have to keep playing center for stretches there are some teams we may have difficulty beating. Strong may put up or surpass Moore in numbers doing so,, but her having to play center is a bad sign from my point of view.
