Sounds like she was showing off for Shea. ;)
Well, showing off two games in a row before Shea even got there for the third is a bit of overkill. :D

I think Milford was trying to say she is playing against decent competition.
Exactly. Thanks. She scored 49 against a decent team, not a cupcake. That makes it more impressive, just like scoring 49 against Notre Dame would be more impressive than doing it against Holy Cross.

Like last night, I think most of her triple-doubles came in the form of points, assists, and steals--not rebounds.

WOW! Some highlight video. After seeing that - not just the physical skill-set but the team play, court vision, b-ball IQ - I'm going to be really disappointed if we don't land her.

wow is right. i don't think a single one of her 3's was inside the NBA range. good quickness, good court vision, good passing, good ball handling, good shooting. and it looks like she hustles on defense too. she had some nifty passes on the break - long passes to streaking teammates who she hit in stride. she seems to like the uptempo, she got some steals, and made layups with both hands.

if she had 49 points and 12 assists, that means between scoring and assisting, she was directly responsible for at least 71 out of the team's 100 points. even tho it's only 7 minutes worth, it's pretty impressive no matter how you slice it...

She is very impressive, but it's a highlight video, which by definition, is only going to show her at her best. I was a bit surprised when she took and made that last second three from half court, an unnecessary shot given the big lead her team was enjoying. But other than that she seems to have a great attitude and demeanor, looks like a pretty mature and unassuming kid. And she clearly has serious talent and ability.

I know the opponent, Molloy, enjoys a great reputation as a program in NYC. They recently beat CTK but CTK is really not very good this year, so one should not make too much of that. Does anyone know exactly how good this particular Molloy team is? They certainly did not look very good in this video.

Don't get me wrong, I think Saniya is a very worthy candidate. I just limit my enthusiasm based on a highlight video. Obviously would love to chat with Shea about her but that ain't gonna happen!

This young lady appears to be off-the-charts special and assuming Shea gives a resounding appraisal (how could she not) to Geno...do we offer and what are our chances of attracting Ms. Saniya?

I watched the videos posted a few days ago and there's a lot to marvel at: She has WNBA range on her 3 pt shooting...is an amazing passer with great court vision...has a non-stop motor...is all about team attitude...and extremely humble and sweet to boot! UConn material all the way...what's not to love! :)

Molloy is 11-5.

Got off to a slow start this year and seems so-so, for them.

I dont think these are highlight videos theyre game videos with some of the other stuff left out. I cant tell you how impressed I am with Saniya. She does everything well within the flow of the game and what a shooter. To be able to score like she does, and pass, and rebound makes her a very special player. How is it that shes been under the radar for so long? I do know a bunch of D1 schools have been to Ossining, but from what Ive heard her Dream is to be a Husky.

Geno/UConn look for very specific qualities. Talent is obviously one of them, but there are other ingredients in there that make a Kelly Faris kind of player a must-get for Geno when many other schools didn't see it. So it's tough to say with 100% certainty that Geno will give the thumbs up to offering any given kid.

If we whiffed completely on 2013 kids, we'd have 10 kids on the roster for the 2013-14 season. Geno has stated he'd ideally have 12-13 every season, so chances are we will do our level best to bring two or three kids aboard in that recruiting cycle. Diamond and Taya are obvious takes, and we're clearly being very circumspect with offers beyond them. The middle Samuelson has been a focus as well, so the question is a) would Geno be OK with going to 14 if he offered a fourth kid and everyone accepted (my guess: probably, especially since four kids leave after the 2013 class's freshman year), and b) if not, would we try to slow-play Samuelson or Saniya (or anyone else that's been discussed).

Without having any knowledge of Saniya personally, I would bet heavily on Geno landing a New York kid if he wants her. UConn is BY FAR the crown jewel program of the Northeast. For a kid who wants to stay reasonably close to home, there's really no competition. Ossining is two hours away from the XL center and two and a half from Gampel. That is a huge selling point in UConn's favor.

Hope it works out, because to this layman's eyes, she looks like a UConn kind of kid.

It will be most interesting to see how she does once her team hits the tough competition of the state playoffs......or any highly ranked teams from here on out. One thing seems certain: this board will be following her every move

Either Geno or Chris (I think it was Geno) said something almost exactly like: "We want at least 3 in the class of 2013."

And with Chong we know of four with whom there's something active going on. DeShields and Reimer have offers. Not sure about Samuelson. I think the Chong situation could move rapidly if UConn pulls the trigger.

Would expect Shea is reporting on her assessment right about now. If UConn is interested, the next step would likely be an invitation to Storrs for an unofficial visit.

Would think the Godfather & CD will want to see her before anything moves too far forward.

Agree on both counts. One UConn rule is no offers are made until the recruit visits Storrs. Another, probably is that Geno and/or CD has to see the recruit play before an offer is made. I think another UConn requirement is that at least one guard should be part of every incoming class, if at all possible. See Moriah, KLM and Brianna, Bria and Lauren, Kelly, Tiff and Caroline, Lorin, etc. etc.

Given the proximity of Ossining to Storrs, things could happen pretty quickly in this situation.

Given the short distance, we may see Saniya in Bridgeport in March. Let's keep our collective eyes open.
