I think he's done for the year. Really hope not.
What makes you say that?
The fact that he was holding his knee when Doran went over to him. Winslow landed right on top of him.
It is still early enough in the year to get a medical redshirt, if it comes to that. Not a great situation for this year's team, though - basically, Hamilton becomes the back up point guard.
If Cassell sees significant minutes, then this year is over. He is a rich man's RJ Evans - great against DII talent, overwhelmed by DI talent. He will be a 5 minute a game spotter the rest of the way.Cassell was buried on the bench tonight, but he's still the backup IMO.
It really doesn't mean anything. If it is any kind of bad knee problem the knee would be too swolen to get much out of a sideline examination. He was back on bench at end of game. I don't know if that means anything but I'd say encouraging.
When I saw the replay, that's what I thought. At first I thought the worst, ACL, but the replay looked like a high ankle sprain type injury. That's an injury that depending on its severity, can take quite some time to heal and it sure looked like a bad one. Of course that a whole lot better than blowing out one's knee.Looked like he got his foot stepped on... Could be a high ankle sprain
