Ladies in the Lab. Judging by the article from the State Dawn knows the team will be young but she’s not trying to have a drop off whatsoever. She said they’re super talented and the core group has had some experience playing in tough games and practices. Expects them to hit the ground running. I can’t wait to see them in Paris!

This is what I’ve been saying. I expect a dominant season from this group.

Maybe not 36-1 dominant but I do expect them to be top 5 majority of the season and competing for both SEC titles and a national title.
My bottom line is top 8 at the end of the SEC regular season . Then, I think we will be experienced enough to make a deep run in the two tournaments . Of course, I hope those runs are all the way.

I expect some early trouble until we get en-of-season level experience

That isn’t a UConn connected source, FYI. And multiple people that were not me said their sources told them we have no chance and she’s going to South Carolina or LSU. Truly not trolling just confused at this point.
1. not a connected source? Look at @HuskyNan’s post in that thread? “He’s got connections.”

2. Multiple people other than you?” Name one other poster in that thread who posted about SCar and Strong other than you and me - and my post then was the same line as I take now. Twitter is filled with idiots.

You are simply in This Gamecock thread to troll our posters about something you saw such an idiot post on Twitter.

One can find an idiot Twitter fan for any fanbase. I wouldn’t seek to impose their silly opinions on that school’s fans on this board.

But troll on.

Maybe not 36-1 dominant, sure. But I expect the challenges to come in the OOC, not the SEC. Maybe it's just me and I'm underestimating the rest of the SEC. I just don't see a comparably powerful team there or, to put it in other words, if they lose in conference it will be a huge upset. I have a ton of confidence in Raven. She may not quite have been ready last season to lead. But I think she will not disappoint this season. Adding PaoPao just looks like insurance to me. And Kamila looks really ready to take up a dominating role, and Watkins and Feagins will flourish next to her.

Could LSU beat them? Maybe, but I don't see it. Even with Morrow helping out underneath, Reese is still likely to do a disappearing act, just like last time. We won't see her doing her signature "too small" taunt in that game. The Gamecocks are still bigger, stronger and quicker than everyone else in the SEC. The same weakness persists from last season, I suspect, namely inconsistent perimeter shooting. But I don't see any team positioned to leverage that into an upset.

Who could pose a threat outside the SEC? Maybe a team like ND, Indiana, or maybe even UCLA, and of course, UConn. This will be as it ever was, and if we get to see matchups like this, I think it will make for great games.

I guess I’m a little more optimistic because most of their tough games will be at home this year. Maryland, Stanford, and UConn games are in the CLA. In the SEC Ole Miss, Miss St, and Tennessee will also be at home. ND is on neutral court while LSU and A&M are away games. Those to me will be our toughest games while not knowing the complete schedule and the better teams sans LSU will have to travel to Columbia. I like SC chances to be one of the very best teams going into postseason based on who’s back on the roster and what was brought in transfer/ freshman wise. Those ladies expect to be back in the FF and I don’t doubt that one bit. The SEC tournament being in Greenville is a big plus as well. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.

1) she’s talking about the person that tweeted the video but the person who made the video, and said there was a silent commit does not have connections.

2) you are right, it’s in the June recruiting thread where it was made clear UConn wasn’t in the running for Strong. I guess that doesn’t mean she’s going to USC or LSU but that seems to be the assumption.

I’m going to leave this thread right now because it’s clear any recruiting questing or assumptions I have will be seen as trolling when that it not my intention at all.

Yes I agree, the matchups will be insane this year! The SEC will likely be top heavy this year. SC, LSU, Ole Miss, Tenn, Miss St, GA, and A&M will likely be the cream of the crop. Everyone else will be meh probably. Toughest road games will be at LSU, A&M and GA so it’ll be interesting to watch those matchups. A lost could possibly happen but I don’t think they will lose the regular season title or tournament title IMO.

Interestingly Reese is said to probably play the 5 more this year and I don’t think that will be smart considering she’ll have to play the 4 in the WNBA and needs to work on stretching her game out. Reese and Morrow frontline will be excellent rebounding but defending bigger players are their question marks. Past two years Cardoso has just reached up and scored over angel and she hasn’t been able to keep her off the glass even when she’s had her body in front. Same question with Morrow for me, can Kim turn her into a good post defender by November? Del Rosario is a good option but some LSU fans think she may need a season of conditioning and post work to get ready. The game will be in BR and likely a sellout so it’s going to be a fun matchup to watch.

For me personally I’m not really worried about the SEC. Dawn is familiar with every team and their style and they’ll likely try to continue to pack the paint on SC. But honestly I feel Dawn is going to surprise people and switch up her style a little. KC isn’t a Boston type of post where you can throw it in the paint and expect a sure bucket, while Watkins and Feagin are versatile fours who can stretch the floor and take it off the bounce. I think SC will run a lot more P-N-R action this year especially with the addition of Paopao who’s an excellent shooter and passer. KC is a mobile big with good hands and she’s better scoring on the move versus posting with her back to the basket. I think the floor will be spread a little more and I think SC will be a better shooting team because of the addition of Paopao, Fulwiley, and T. Johnson. Kitts can stretch the floor too and Breezy Hall has been putting in major work this summer so far working on her game. Raven playing in the Americup this summer will give her a head start on her leadership skills and I too agree with you on the fact that she’ll be ready to lead this team better this year.

The most anticipated and concerning matchup for me as a SC fan is the UConn game. UConn is the only team in my mind that has the comparable talent 1-12 like SC, and they’ll be getting their NPOY back along with Fudd who showed AA play before getting hurt, and Edwards who took her game to another level last season. Geno will find a way to make it mesh and they’ll be hungry to prove themselves after a disappointing end to their season. The main positive I like for SC in that matchup is the fact that the game will be in Columbia in front of a 18,000 crowd mid season when they’ve gotten comfortable and sure of themselves, and the fact that no one on the Huskies roster other that Aubrey Griffen has played in Columbia or an environment of that magnitude. I think they’ll be up for the Challenge but playing in an arena where everyone is screaming against you rather for you is tough! I’m just super excited to see it all play out and I hope everyone stays healthy the entire season! It could be the best one yet.

Not to trying to be that person, but seeing her GPA and her wanting to be an Environmental Engineer is interesting after reading sometime last year that she was very interested in attending Stanford.
If she doesn't come to SC, I would rather her at Stanford instead of another SEC or ACC school. I don't want to see her at UConn either.

It’s GARNET and Black and while Duke could put her into any door based on academics the Athletics leaves ALOT to be desired. That program should’ve had at least a championship at this point…

Besides y’all have the dunking sensation Toby Fournier. Be Happy :);)
Exactly. Talk about greedy. Get a few recruits and now they want everybody. Sheesh. @triaddukefan

The Ivies can’t even offer a scholarship. They do have reduced cost depending on parental income.
Yep, and full tuition coverage if you're VERY underprivileged. I went to one of the best high schools in the country, located in the Charleston area. One of my classmates went to Harvard on full tuition program. He was smart (top 15% of the class maybe), but being underprivileged and showing potential sent him to an Ivy for free. And I wasn't jealous one bit. The Ivies should be generous in that way.

I just checked his linkedin.. he's a PhD and a 1st year surgical resident at 30 years old. Sheesh.

I've had many middle class students get full scholarships at Ivy League Schools. It's not just for the VERY underprivileged.

I think it’s between Duke, South Carolina, Stanford and UNC. I can’t see her coming to UConn, though she’d be welcomed with open arms.

Lay and Breezy was down in Miami putting in work before they got to campus. I think SC is going to be a very good shooting team. Last season the team 3 point percentage was 31.5% I can see that rise up to at least 38% which is very good.

Lay is different. Gonna be fun to watch. She will be one that will bring in the fans just to watch her play.
