.........have been greatly exaggerated.

Ha ha - great win from this Louisville fan. I was chuckling over assumptions you boys would go away and become the South Side of irrelevant.

For the record - and this means as much as spit - I hope we both stick around for the next generation of the newer Big East. I really enjoy being in the conference with you and I expect to see you at or near the top in hoops forever. I even want to make you miserable in football! :)

I am that egalatarian!

Thanks Senore and good to hear from you.

I saw your post on your board and find it funny you get the difference between the generic Boneyard poster vs the Cuse posters.......they are really generally the biggest fanbase in the BE and the fans will not be missed........we appreciate your support and actually all of the posts were very supportive from the Cards board.......check out the posts on the Cuse board which speak to "eventual irrelevance", "Calhoun was a " etc etc........some respected KO but very few respect their BE opposition........funny how fans can change your attitude towards players/te as i can't even root for the Cuse anymore even in the NCAA tourney because the typical Orange fan are so arrogant!

Anyway best of luck this year (minus one game) and PS comes back with a strong year they could be real special.......would like to see his game be more in the mold of 2 yrs ago vs the Huskies!!!

Always good the hear from you Senore. Thanks for the kind words. We have a long road in front of us but if we can hold it together this year and not drop off- we should be on the way to the next chapter in UCONN basketball. Good Luck this year-

love your input Senore

the Big East will survive as we know it if UConn and Louisville stick around. Cinci helps too. But if either of our two schools leave, I think the basketball only schools head for the door.

Louisville and UConn are what brings value the hoops only schools right now

and I'm with you. I want to succeed and prosper in the NNBE, and I want to go to MSG in NYC every March

I'm deliriously excited about us, make no mistake. I'm old enough to remember the 70's and 80's, bear in mind, and I smell a breakthrough to that level this season and perhaps those to come. Pitino is on a comfy roll right now, recruiting guys he likes and who are also dam good. Having the personalities we have on this team is another bonus as well. Humorous, devilish with an innocent side and pure players.

My respect and admiration for UConn hoops came with your original visit to Freedom Hall, ranked - like frigging everyone else in the Big East in 2006 - in the Top 10. We had a dismal season, the year after our surprising Final Four visit with Garcia and company and we played you tough at home in our first-ever meeting. At the end of the game, the fans gave both teams a standing ovation that went on for a bit. Calhoun was visibly moved and had the nicest stuff to say, showing appreciation for our hoops IQ, enthusiasm and the unconditional competitive warmth which he said blew his mind. His honesty was more refreshing than an herbal bath. We felt he welcomed us into the conference in just the right way. I love the game, just like the other Louisville fans. You guys set the standard recently - the real standard, not some Calipari-esque massacre of the rules and ethics - I feel somehow that not acknowledging that would be stupid and a sin.

Beating your asses, in other words, is always satisfying. :)

Señor you are awesome, please visit the boneyard a lot during the season. Also, can't wait to watch you guys wipe the smug smirk off of Calamari's face.

After the sentimentality, lol, I wanted to address a couple things.

Cuse - yeah, they seem precious as hell. You guys seem more laid back and you always have - it's one of the lasting impressions I take away from interacting with you all. I played the hell out of Devil's advocate over the Pitino Slash Skank affair, mentioning it was humiliating yet sort of humorous at the same time. I mean, you know, the whole "there but for the grace of god go I" routine, lol. A few of you laughed but I got nailed like a UK southern evangelistic morals convention in terms of sheer lameassness over there. No humor in that nervous crowd. I judged around then that you guys, for whatever reason (probably 3 NC's, lol in a bit over a decade) , you guys have fewer predators. Then of course, the nastiness of the assistant over there made it an entire edifice of FAIL.

Secondly, Siva had what appeared to be just another pretty OK game the other night in our opener and ended up with a double double - 10 pts and 10 dimes. He is prepped to have a special year. It probably won't be as heroic as his escapades against you guys two years ago where he and Kemba put on a show, 3 games in a row. But he is better, not worse - he just has more help. I know some of you rate him high and so do I - but he has learned to blend. We could be exceptionally special this season.

Dude, I want to beat them so bad it hurts. I think we have this, myself. Pitino usually dwells on how unimportant it is - lying, naturally - because in the past we had bad injury luck or just hadn't jelled yet and their fans have destruction fantasies out loud in their jealousy and fear of Louisville being important in anything, with a nice urban/rural grist to the other-worldy hating delusion. So, yeah - time to embarrass them, hopefully twice.

You are clearly a great fan and from everything I've seen from the Louisville fanbase I like them a lot, passionate but fair and knowledgeable, nothing like so many of the mouthbreather Kentucky fans, who think nothing exists outside of their crappy little hamlet. Also visited the city of Louisville for the first time last year, seemed like a really nice place, one of the nicer mid-size cities you will find anywhere.

Here - this is bragging, but my city is on a roll. I'll have more on it in a couple days at my blog. Louisville is building one of the largest parks in the world and it's a winner. It's based on nature, lol - how boring, eh? - as they pulled out invasive species and renaturalized huge swaths of land alongside a very historic and gorgeous creek. It is Olmstead-like in a city planning sense and truly visionary. Louisville is having a Renaissance of sorts at the weirdest time, during a Recession. Also, click the link at the bottom of the post in my blog - it explains in great detail what's going on.

Is the Seelbach still around? My impressions of Louisville were that I liked the downtown much more than the strip mall road leading out of town, but that the natives clearly did not. Oh, and taxis were very hard to come by.

KO looks unimpressed in that photo.

Are you looking at that body language?

Sheesh!

It looks like he already doesn't get along with Ward Manuel.
