The guy must have lost it, we aren't even in his top 25. Or maybe this is an attempt to boost mojo. Idk. Even with just boatright returning we have a developing elite center . we will have an elite defense. and more pieces.

Apparently we are in the same league as SMU by conference affiliation alone.

Its bad that he left us out but its absurd that his ranking was predicated on boat and DD returning. He also ranks Cuse when a lot of their fans realize they may be hot garbage.

Eh? It sounded to me like he was saying DD returning would put the team in the top 25. Guess it's just a semantic thing.

Its not semantics. It was a reading comprehension problem in my part. I still love the doubting.

Yea I won't complain if we lose both and we are ranked outside the top 25, with both of them we are Top 10, Top 15 at worst

Do people still really care about these things?

In UConn's last two national championship seasons, they started the year ranked #19 and unranked. It's time to stop worrying.
I'm with you. And with all the kids yet to decide if they are coming back or not, it's way premature to try to figure out where everyone belongs preseason.

Side note - has Hamilton signed LOI yet?

Yes and no

Yes it matters because it's national recognition!

No because we are UCONN and we love being DOGS!

"really care"? No i don't really care. its just odd, figured I'd point out how ludicrous it is, considering incoming personnel. Not to mention we just won a freaking title. Ville lost two best players post title weren't they like top 5?

It is bizarre, and I'm not calling you out specifically. But every year people obsess a little over rankings, and every years it makes me laugh.

Yes, the national recognition that comes with being highly ranked is a good thing, but I'm never again gonna waste much time worrying about it.

After losing the second-coming of Troy Murphy, it's going to be tough to recover.
lmao i'm not sure if he's trying to be a caricature of himself when he hoists absurd comparisons to the twitter atmosphere. thats his version of scouting

I mean, if we somehow bring both DD and Boatshow (i'm assuming we don't, not mad about it), this team would be better in that entire top 25. People think random freshman (Cliff Alexander and Oubre are nasty, too bad no point guard) can come and just lauch a team to final four level. Thats untrue if you have generational talent like Ant davis. 1-7 years. thats not how it works NOW when coaches like hoiberg and ollie are out there, too much good coaching.

"The Mustangs are the clear favorite in the American. And it's not even close."

No respect for the UCONN roster not named Shabazz (but he also gets little credit in the draft predictions), especially Rodney Purvis, who I think will be ready to tear it up and Coach Ollie has already called his "Ferrari". I dont know if he will het there, but his ceiling is somewhere between Marcus Smart and Dwayne Wade.

The other issue is the total disregard for Brimah's potential. Many times color commentators talked about how he will be a dominant player when he finally "get's it", but in the previews they inky mention that he is a good shot-blocker, although foul-prone. AB improved a tremendous amount over the course this season. By the end of next year, we may be seeing more offensive performances like the first UCFD game. If he really starts playing somewhere close to Patrick Ewing type of performances, look out...UCONN could be a lot better next year.

Many of the other schools are given credit for reputation alone. Florida loses 4 starters and Syrabuse without Ennis and Grant?
Well, I guess we will see...doomed, DOOMED for sure!

Difference between BB and FB is that BB is decided on the court. Not in some debate about who has more tradition or a better recruiting class.

Makes articles like this entertainment value only.

Hope SMU is great next year. Losing Lville hurts. We were the 3rd best team in the regular season last year and it did not turn out all that bad.

I won't get worked up about these lists again when you consider where we were ranked pre season in 2011 and 2014.

But I don't understand the rankings at all based on the descriptions he gave. Arizona and Kansas #1 and 2 losing Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson, Andrew Wiggins, and Embiid? Michigan still top 10 losing Stauskus and Robinson? Louisville won't miss anything with Smith and Luke H gone? Florida? Didn't they lose 4 starters? Ok. I guess. At least teams like Wisconsin and UNC have proven returners and veterans. Most of these teams they list are based on players who have never played yet. The obsession with freshman is overboard. Not everyone has mastered the Kentucky one and done deal. For every Kentucky there was a Kansas, Duke, and Syracuse led by much hyped freshman this year that flopped in March. Give me veteran teams any day in March. I think it was huge in the championship game. If Daniels and Boat come back I like how we stack up against those "top ten" teams.
