I’m not usually big on collaborations, but he was also a great collaborator. His True Love album is a favorite of mine and that’s what I’m spinning. He matches up so well with such a broad range of people. The ones with Bonnie Raitt and Bootsy are my favorites but they are all great.
My mind went to Roy Hibbert as well. I’ve only known “toots” to mean one other thing though being the parent of young children.

I got turned on to them almost 20 years ago when I liked the song “Quality Control” on the Made soundtrack and really liked the voice of Chali 2na. I learned that he had previously been a member of Ozomatli so I checked them out and loved them. Saw them at Jazz Fest in New Orleans a few laters later and they were fun. Great energy.
Dove... Weird story.... Went out to see a movie with my wife back in 1999 when we used to alternate choosing flicks. We saw the Drew Barrymore comedy "Never been Kissed" and Ozomotli was the band in the bar scene where Barrymore gets high on some special brownies with a table full of Rastafari. This is one of the two songs they do in the film. The band was the best part of the movie. I searched out their debut CD that weekend. Have 5 or 6 of their releases. But have never seen them live.
Sounds like how I got into The Busboys. They were the bar band in 48 Hours.
