RIP, Alex

There will be a memorial gathering at noon, April 23rd, in Wethersfield, and we'll post more details after dannykuconn confirms what's allowed. If you were thinking of some kind of memorial contribution, that hasn't yet been on our radar; I'll ask his father.

Thoughts, prayers and blessings to you and your family at this difficult time. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him here and in life.

RIP. Your wisdom will be missed.
Funny you should say wisdom.

Here's the avatar from Alex's 10,098th, and last, post on February 10, 2017.

I had the honor of bestowing his subtitle nickname Wise Guy.

It didn't mean smart aleck. It meant wise.

RIP Alex......My fellow BY'er and friend. Though we never met in person we exchanged a quite a few posts and comments. I know he will be rooting the Huskies on from on high.

I thought of him as the Final Four began. I always enjoyed his posts. He was both smart and kind. He is missed even by those of us who only knew him through his posts.

FYI, Alex used the handle "alexrgct."

MIL - just got to a library puter and found this - thanks for adding his BY handle which enabled me to place him immediately. Wife and I send our condolences to the family and we both will miss him on the score prediction threads as well as other posts of his. Sorry to learn of his passing.

In was really sorry to hear of Alex's death. The only place I knew him was here on the BY. My loss, I think. His posts were smart, thoughtful and often a step or two beyond anything others were thinking about My condolences to his family.
