41-27 at the half. Russia scoring well in paint (great interior passing/shotmaking) but struggling on 3s. USA making 3s. Russia also fouling because can not keep up with US speed. Bria sat for remainder of 1st half with 2 fouls; too bad she started off great. Sims playing ok; massengale just too passive on offense.
 
41-27 at the half. USA has to do a better job on eliminating 2nd chance opportunities for Russia. Don't have live Stats, Team USA has to be shooting approx 50% while Russia around 35%. Got to continue to hit 3's and get out in transition without turning the ball over.

Great half by Team USA. A couple of Russia's star players are in foul trouble.
 
USA playing well, except for turnovers. Bria sat entire 2nd quarter and she was missed.

Russia shooting badly (2-11?) on treys.

Bradford "has no conscience" and knocked down a couple treys.

Cut down turnovers and go for the gold.

Officiating okay so far but the refs need to be reminded that a player can not travel with the ball unless she has possession.
 
Whoever coaches the Russian post players on how to make point blank layups could get a job in the USA. They don't miss and have great footwork around the basket. :)
 
50-38 USA Leads approx 5:30 left in the 3rd qtr. Sloppy play by Team USA, but still able to maintain lead. USA getting into Team Foul Trouble for the qtr.
 
60-44 USA Leads 3:14 left in 3rd Qtr. USA has settled down and getting quick transition baskets. Massengale is playing well since she's been in the game. Bria Hartley has been outstanding....

I think Odyssey will pick it up in 2nd half.........We have no foul trouble ; and we have 14-pt lead. She needs to get fast break going and beat defense down the court to be effective because Russians too BIG inside to drive down the lane. Perfect time for her to get our running game started.
 
68-47 End of 3rd Qtr. Team USA goes on 11-0 Run to end the quarter. Team USA's defense is outstanding.
 
Ellenberg hasn't found a shot she doesn't like Sloppy play by Team USA in last minute or so.
 
Cos USA are up we have some players more woried about MVP than winning the game!
 
Lead down to 18 points. Questionable travel call on Bria. USA not taking advantage of Russia's zone. Russia scoring in the paint.
 
21-PT LEAD AT END OF 3RD..............LET'S GO USA!!
 
Since Russia went into a zone, Sherrie got KML in the game, but so far hasn't been able to get a shot.
