Remember when UNC had fake classes and then never got punished?

The potential for sanctions is like the sword of domacles hanging over the program. No doubt the investigation already impacted that program significantly

If they used the one they used for Miami, maybe UNC would have to worry. That crew was working to make a lot of stuff up, they just screwed up and got caught doing it. Then again, maybe that would be good for UNC after all.
Not correct. They employed a lawyer in the Shapiro bankruptcy case to interview witnesses in that case. It was a gray area and an over reach by the NCAA. A tactical mistake but not, as you imply, a creation of false information.

This article in USA Today gives some info about it. But more revealing is why that SOB Emmert went after UConn regarding the APR.

Theyre still fixing code violations at Uconn. There must be 5-6 projects a year that come across my desk a year. Not huge projects but $100k here and $200k there adds up. Cant say how many were incorrectly done under Emmert's watch but im sure there's more than a few. He can ES&D.

You're right, the evidence was manufactured by Shapiro on top of the actual stuff that could be proven. So they didn't manufacture evidence, but they went way out of bounds to try and get some and got caught because the crooked lawyer sent them a bill. It still was a very public exposure of the NCAA's "unfortunate" investigative techniques and I think it has contributed to their lack of aggressiveness since.
