That's the kind of infusion of shooting I think we need. I think by seasons end, thats a top 10-15 team. I don't want to "rely" on any of the freshman. If Hawkins or Diggins is good enough to steak minutes, so be it. You also forgot Andre Jackson. Which i'd probably swap for PolleyHaha, that would be a MONSTER team:
4: Whaley, Akok, Springs
3: Martin, Polley
5: Sanogo, Johnson
2: Grady, Parham, Hawkins
1: Cole, Gaffney, Diggins
We recruited him before he committed last summer
2021 Recruiting: Lucas Taylor
Lucas Taylor was recently extended an offer from UConn's Dan Hurley. He’s a 6’6 SG from Wake Forest, NC ranked #132, 3-star on Rivals, not yet ranked on 247. He's a late bloomer that has seen his recruitment blow up in recent months and now has over 20 D-1 offers; he had only one or two a few...the-boneyard.com
We recruited him last summer, but he always seemed to be a backup option to Hawkins. Hope we get back involved, he's a perfect fit for that 2/3 combo guard who can shoot and play defenseI posted a separate thread about this, but he is my number one want. I believe he has a connection to UConn, but I can't remember what it is. Late riser with tons of upside.
Went back and checked in the recruiting thread for him and it looks like Purvis knows him.I posted a separate thread about this, but he is my number one want. I believe he has a connection to UConn, but I can't remember what it is. Late riser with tons of upside.
This has to be one of my favorites to hit the portal this far. Big guard with good 3pt shooting. I think we should reach out, but he will be a popular one for many teams.
Also 2 years of eligibility (3 if he decides to stay his extra year). This one sounds like a no brainer to me, but again, he’s gonna have a long list of offers.6'4 195, 11.4 ppg, 42.4 3p%, ~40% shots are from 3.
ya know what's not on that list of 3pt 35%+ and 6'3+?Here's our hunting list:
Shooting big guards
More importantly what is his layup %??Another big on the transfer market:
Eastern Michigan's Ty Groce.
6'8 215 grad transfer.
15.2p, 6.9r, 2.0a, 1.3s, 58.9 2p%, 34.0 3p%, 72.3 FT%, ~ 30% of FGAs from 3.
Played about 60% minutes at the 5 and the other minutes at the 4.
He shot 69.6% on 102 attempts at the rim. Basically equal to Sanogo who was at 70% on 60 attemptsMore importantly what is his layup %??
6'4 195, 11.4 ppg, 4.1r, 2.1a, 1.2s, 42.4 3p%, ~40% shots are from 3.
Gonzaga has as good a chance as anyone at winning a championship this year, and is the likely landing spot for 3 of the top 5 on this list (Sallis/Holmgren/Kessler). They're gonna be loaded again next year if they pull that offPretty cool article where two Athletic writers rank the best available HS seniors and transfers on one list.
