Does it explain why no one can tell that Clark Kent is Superman? You know, how he just throws glasses on and suddenly no one recognizes him?
Yes, it does in fact. From Luthor himself. You should see it.

They explained it in the movie which was not a good movie.

The often explained reason why no one thinks Clark Kent is Superman is pretty straight forward. People think Superman is always Superman. They are unaware that he uses a secret identity to blend in. While other Comic Heroes like Batman wear a mask, begging the question, who is this guy behind the mask? Superman doesn't have a mask. He is Superman. There are probably a lot of dudes that sort of favor Superman. But no one is looking for Superman's secret identity because they don't know he has one. If Clark looks like Superman, so what. He ain't Superman.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

So no one at the Daily Planet has grabbed Clark Kent's arm and felt that he's made of "steel"? He's never taken his glasses off at work to rub his eyes or clean them and someone just happened to notice "Gee, Clark. You sure look exactly like Superman". Ridiculous.

There's a meme going around saying "I never believed people wouldn't recognize Clark Kent as Superman until I saw Zooey Deschanel without bangs and glasses"

You only think that because you know about the secret identity.

Whut? I'm not convinced that's the same person.

Hmm. Now I'm looking at some images of her from "The New Guy," with lighter hair and a different hair style, and she does look quite different. Same with "Elf."

Initially planned on skipping it, but decided to give "Kraven the Hunter" a try last night. With expectations set fairly low, I actually found it half decent and fairly entertaining.

Same. Didn't post it here but with low expectations it was actually a perfectly fine Saturday Maintee type action movie.

I thought I'd seen a review of "The Gorge" on here, but can't seem to find it now. Somewhat recent offering from Apple+ starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy. They play a pair of elite snipers recruited for a year long mission keeping watch from guard towers on opposite sides of some mysterious, fog shrouded gorge. Something is down there. What it is, either nobody knows or nobody is saying. I liked the set up quite a bit, but then when it got into the heart of the movie it was just too zany and couldn't keep its momentum IMO. It was okay but I was hoping for better.

Another so so script with an A List cast. Streaming special.

Den of Thieves

This one features Gerard Butler, 50 Cent, John O'Shea and Pablo Schreiber.

It's cops and robbers movie in LA. The Cops seem as criminal as the robbers (sound familiar, it's supposed to be). The movie is one big homage to Heat.

Gerard Butler stars as Gerard Butler, the highly degenerate but still highly competent version. He's the cop. The robbers are led by Pablo Schreiber and they are a bunch of former Special Ops Marines. Not going to say much more. There are some really good and tense scenes. And it's worth a watch.

I pretty much hated Spider Man comics but that Kraven the Hunter arc was probably as good as it got.

M3GAN 2.0. The first movie was a bit horror/slasher comedy. This is more an action movie comedy. It's quite a bit of fun actually. The writing for M3GAN is quite good, she's one sarcastic murderous android. Don't want to share spoilers but I think this is worth the watch if you like this kind of thing. Side note, there's a scene with Allison Williams in a media van and um...that's a memorable choice.

Per AI, if Superman were to debut today, he would not be able to have a driver's license, passport or any pictures digitized on a social media platform. Or he would need to employ some technology that blurred his features, like an "electromagnetic mask". He would also have to lean much harder into the awkward Clark character, ridiculously to the point where no one would ever believe he was the Man of Steel. Even with those countermeasures, the likelihood his identity stayed secret is almost zero.

Pretty sure Krypton’s tech would outsmart Earth tech.

I tried. "Play Dirty" is brand new on Amazon. Heist movie with a decent ensemble cast. Directed by Shane Black. I got about halfway thru, just couldn't do it. It's dumb. Bad dialog, some really poor CGI, meandering and over complicated plot, etc. That isn't even when I quit, but when a guy got dropped from a 4th or 5th floor window, hit a fire escape or something on the way down, then landed on the roof of a car...and walked away, what? Or when a car chase plowed into the middle of a horse race, and one horse jumped onto a car and ran over the top of it and down the other side, without leaving so much as a single scratch or ding? Huh? I'm pretty sure the weight of a person can dent the roof of a car, let alone a 2000 lb horse. Script writing in Hollywood is so dismal these days.

Shane Black used to be a decent filmmaker too.

Superman (2025) I generally like these movies. But Superman crosses back and forth from Comic Book movie to cartoon movie. I get that Krypto the Superdog is there for the kids --kind of a Jar Jar Binks character. It doesn't work because the movie is makes no attempt to play it straight. It seems to have found an audience but I ain't in it. This is a bad movie.
