Was just looking at current NBA players salaries, and checking out ex Uconn guys. Shocked when i seen Ray has made $178,037,360. That is not including his current salary of $3,090,000 or his salary for next year $3,229,050. Wouldnt be that big of a deal you think to throw a million at the Basketball facility. Hopefully with K.O. donating all the other Uconn players will come out with some major money. The facility needs to out do "CuntTuckys" Hahaha. They have there own dorm rooms, personal chef, etc. Its almost like Kentucky has turned there program into a NBA team with all the stuff they have. HUSKY PRIDE!!!

You can't call out players for not donating. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that we received a few very large anonymous donations, and you never know who they might be from. Maybe he has other places where he wants to donate his money or some other cause he wants to spend all his time and energy on. Maybe he's a selfish that wants to hoard all his money in a silo so he can swim in it like Scrooge McDuck. Either way it's not our place to judge him or any player on whether we've heard about a donation in their name.

That being said, what KO did was great, and I hope it does propel other players to donate

And i didnt call anyone out. Just stating a fact bro. Outside of his charity or medical donations, or poverty or whatever other kind of donations. you would think the uconn facility would be right at the top. Obviously he could have went plenty of other schools, he can chip in to a school that has helped him become VERY RICH. If that large anoynmous donation was from a player that is awesome. But you see it all the time now, former players kicking in HUGE amounts of money to former schools. Ie Carmelo Anthony 1/2 rays career salary donated $3million, Richard Jefferson $3.5 million to Arizona, Brian Davis and Laettner $2 mil total, Grant Hill $1 mill. This is just a small sample. All I know is if my college made me $180 million I would help them out in anyway possible. I would be out there building the facility myself. Sorry about the rant we just need to put an end to Kentucky buying players and have the same recruiting pitch as the Squid.

Can't call them out individually but it will be very disappointing if they do not assist in this endeavor!!! And maybe we'll never know who does and doesn't, just saying if KO can 100K then there are quite a few others who can at least match if not go well beyond! That is a fact........

I agree that with the number of players we sent to the NBA, you'd think we'd have had an easy time of raising money for this center. For a few years there we had more players in the NBA than any other college, and a lot of them were marquee type players. I agree with the sentiments of what you said, I just don't like to see an individual player singled out.

P.S. in your calculation you forgot to add in his Jesus Shuttlesworth money!!!

I think what will happen is once the total sum raised gets close to the 32 million, than the players will pool together and make up the difference. They also may be waiting to see if Ollie is the head coach of the future. There is no way that the facility won't get done on time. If construction has to stop for lack of funding, than it's time to get on the players.

You say in your first sentence that you're not calling anyone out, then proceed to spend the rest of your post calling someone out. Nice job.

The plan is to obtain a construction loan to start construction and reportedly the BoT has authorized an overrun guaranty, so construction wouldn't be suspended for lack funding.

Numbers fascinate me so I just had to do a little something with this. Before this year, that means he's been paid about $155,000 every time he played a game. Or looking at it another way, he's been paid over $7,500 for every point he has made, or about $64,750 for every three he has made. I doubt it ever occurred to him after his first NBA three, it would be worth that much money. Adding in this year and next, that puts him at $184,000,000 not including endorsements, etc. That's the same as earning a yearly salary of $250,000 for 736 years. Or if you worked for 1000 years, an average salary of $184,000 per year. If you figure the average person works about 40 years full time, that would be an average salary of $4,600,000 per year. I could live on that. Amazing that some of the people earning that much find a way to lose it all.

So if UConn doesn't raise the money through private donation, than what happens? the state pays huge interest until someone finally steps up?

Yep, and the principal balance on the loan too. Plus the cost of overruns, if any.
