Every message board is overly optimistic. Which is OK. Every 5 star and many 4 stars are going to come in and be major contributors from day one. Most do not.
Many believe their teams can make the sweet 16 or better, probably forty or 50 or more teams, 2/3 will not. What do you call these people. FANS!

Nothing wrong with being optimistic, but it's when things don't meet expectations that you see the problems, especially on the Yard. Kids get crushed if they don't do exactly what some 50-something non athlete on his couch guesstimates he should have done.

I don't know much about Hayward, and I didn't see much of Freeman's career at UConn aside from replays I've seen of 1998 and 1999 games. I may be biased because Adrien was a player when I was at UConn, but when you are close to averaging a double-double throughout your sophomore, junior and senior seasons, that's pretty warrior-y.
I always liked Kirk King too. Guy brought the beef. Lost his senior year, and unfortunately more than a few fans in the process.

Seriously. And it's just ridiculous to try to predict how good this kid will be when we haven't even seen him go up against so much as a chair. Or an ottoman.

On the BY the "chair test" is the most important, but closely followed by the "invisible test" where no one here has seen a kid play.

Man the guy is passionate about a player coming in and gets hammered…….when I say hammered I don't mean he was drinking when he posted although he may very well have been……..

Leave him be!

I agree Mau. You and I both know 11-12 drinks is considered sober posting around these parts :) :)

You know how it works here, guy throws out some sunshine or a rainbow, the 'Yard throws back rocks. And when theyre all out of rocks, they throw bricks.

No Toraino Walker or Donny Marshal in the talk of UCONN's tradition of strong, undersized PFs?

UConn's all-time Warrior of the modern era?

LYMAN DEPRIEST.

Really no debate.

He is my official new favorite Husky. We can talk about recruits for the future all we want. I think Lubin is the future and the present at 6-8 260. To have an athletic Charles Oakley as our PF for the next 4 years--we will be fine.

Our team is going to be great next year--answers everywhere with more power upfront. Yes we won the championship last year and we deserved it but we also couldve lost to St Joseph in game !! I think this team will show more balance--it wont have a Napier and Boat just a boat but a Lubin and improved Facey Hamilton Purvis Cassell Brimah with 20-25 more pds Nolan bigger faster stronger better STACKED and look 4 ward to the rock!!!

Kind of like the type of posters that would NOT be allowed entry the Rehab Pool Party at Hard Rock in Vegas? :)
We could also use one for those of us that are too old to go to rehab anymore. We get up at noon, have lunch at Pink Taco, and then head back up stairs for a nap.

Is this a euphemism?

Rakim Lubin is a two ton man-mountain who can palm a medicine ball!
...with legs like tree trunks and a voice like thunder!

Lubin decided to attend a D1 college that also happens to be one of the top CBB schools in the country. He has the same expectations as Scrappy. We are not being overly optimistic. If he's reading this thread he wants us to pour on the expectations. Hopefully it all works out. If it doesn't, it wasn't because we expected or wanted too much from him.

Was Adrien warriorer than Freeman? Compare/contrast to Hayward.
Hayward is a distant third in that company.

Lubin is intriguing. He was once a ranked recruit but fell off the cliff after sitting out a year because of injury (back injury I think, but not 100% on that). He's gained fifty pounds of muscle since recovering from said injury and models his game after the Birdman. Very intriguing indeed.

Oh hell, let's just go all the way: Lubin will consume the Opposition with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.

Or because he decided to drown himself in a sea of beer and pvssy. I'm looking at you Chad Wise.

Is this true? Chad was a party dude?

Oh yeah man. He could have been a decent role player if he applied himself imo. Kid love a good night out.
