Providence Scouting Report

At least you haven’t been to the last three in Newark like this guy.

Game we should win but this team is so up and down you never know. Get the feeling it will be close. A win secures a bid and into two Gampel games to close out the season.
Oh I’ve been to the last 3 at the Pru. I consider it my yearly humbling ritual to travel to that dump and get my teeth kicked in.

Same ... short PATH ride from Jersey City to the Pru in Newark and it's no such a great feeling when we lose there (which we have of late a lot).

That will come in the chat 3 minutes into the game
Okay.

In before the August West post where he tries to impress us with how much he knows about the crappy Providence offense.

The AMP is about 25 minutes from my house, so I try to always make the UConn game. Unfortunately, it's their most expensive ticket and PC no longer sells individual tickets to this game. Package only.

Hoping the Huskies can pull off a rare win in Providence.
I live in Boston so the AMP is less than 1 hours from me. Watching last year's game was fantastic especially hear the silence of the PC fans and then hearing the jangling of car keys and stampede to the exit of PC fans at the 10 min mark of the 2nd half.

Can't wait for the first "they always play us tough, this should be a close game" post.....
I mean, they suck, but this is their Super Bowl and always is.

Didn't they jump out to a 9-0 lead against us last year before we steamrolled?

Edit: actually, Providence led 15-2, 16:00. We then led 53-29, 17:00 2nd. That's a 51-14 run over 19 minutes.

Considering the way this year has gone, the timing of this game and the injuries to PC, I don't see how we don't curbstomp them.

I started reading this post from the beginning thinking it was a new scouting report, with subsequent posts discussing playing without McNeeley. Was panicking and wondering why I hadn't heard about him being out again, then realized I was an idiot.

Mmmm. I can easily see how UConn doesn't curb stomp PC. UConn has lost to two horse s.h. .I t teams in Colorado and Seton Hall.

A-Dub is a PC fan masquerading as a UConn fan.

This should be an easy one. Providence is a really bad team, has lost 6 of their last 7, with nothing to play for, and are banged up

But Colorado, Dayton, Butler twice, Providence the first time, and Seton Hall also should have been easy ones. We lost a few and played others way too close

So just win and I'll be happy..

I don't. PC is decimated. They are down what? Their top 3 scorers? And they're getting pummeled limping to the finish line. No way they can put a full 40 minutes together, especially now with us at full health.

Game line on Fanduel just came out:

UConn - 5.5, O/U = 144.5, money is -255 UConn +205 Providence

Guessing they are looking at UConn 75, Providence 70

I hope you are correct and UConn handles them easily. Seton Hall was getting pummeled for most of the season and UConn still managed to lose to them.

We open only -5.5. That feels LOW

It does from a betting POV but UConn has played a lot of close games, PC should be up for a “rivalry” game and that is still 9(?) on a neutral court.
