A number of PC fans have been claiming this since 2007. Tell me again about how losing out on Doron Lamb, Brandon Knight, et al and needing to settle for Jeremy Lamb, Shabazz Napier and a couple of stiffs from Germany was evidence that we've fallen into a black hole and will not longer be relevant in men's hoops. Granted, it may not have been you specifically who made the above claim (actually I believe it was someone who today is likely no older than 21) but it is basically the same song that PC fans have been singing for just shy of a decade, wind up very disappointed and then start singing it again.
 
Pretty sure I know Peeps back from when I actually went to UConn. I think I'm in the minority here but I really would like to play PC yearly.

Wow you guys handled the championship well……….1994 !! Been a while huh? Guess that makes it pretty hard to know how to act……….and FriarJ followed you. MOST are congratulatory here yet you come here as a typical , unbelievable!

So sean I was all set to come on congratulate some of you and I read these s replying to virtually nothing, just running their mouths (keys) so I refuse.

But to you congrats I am sure it was a thrilling weekend and now even Sunday means something again……..for both of us!! Best of luck I like that team just hate most of the fans, a lot too!!

PC now has a trophy for their case. That's one more than Mick has in his 8 years at Cinci. Little angry fella still has an empty shelf. Not a single piece of hardware pre or post season since leaving CUSA.

Funny.......if we had won our conference tournament championship last night about the last thing on my mind would have been to go to a Providence message board.

I have to believe it's a difference borne from vastly different perspectives.

Don't look now , but Cincy is the current reigning AAC Champion. All I know is, Cincy won as many BET tourney games as they lost while in the BE, and just got their 4th straight NCAA Tourney bid. And unlike PC, didn't need an auto bid to get one. And that was while rebuilding a whole new program from scratch.

And after PC's stringing together of 4-12 to 5-11 conf seasons during the period Cincy was in the BE, PC didn't win a single BET game. Face it, PC needed to play in a mid-major A10/MVC remake to become competative.

Cincy won it outright. Didn't need no stinking' coin flip. And did so beating 3 teams that made the past 6 NCAA Finals. Who did PC beat again? LMAO!

I was impressed with him at Fairfield, my local school, and continue to be impressed with reversing the course of Keno's dumpster fire. Plus, good guards make for good tournaments and it is nice to have a player like Bryce Cotton in the mix.

They will likely lose in the 1st round or round 2 but this is a very positive step for him. They have a lot of douchey fans but so do we, as anyone who has ever entered the chat can attest to.

The one thing that bothers me is that the tournament is still called the Big East Tournament and media like ESPN isn't even addressing the needed asterisk in their headlines. "Providence wins first BET since 1994"

Yep. This is a brandy new conference. They won inaugural (Little) East Tournament. The "Conference Formerly Known As The Big East" is the AAC. Sure there are less Big East Alumni Schools here than there but it is what it is. As with all things, just follow the money (aka NCAA credits.) They bought a name. That's it.
 
Just look at who PC beat for the BET trophy. St Johns, SH, and Creighton. Two other traditional BE doormats and an MVC transplant. LOL!
 
congrats Providence on your title. If we see you next week then that's that the better team will win. No need to constantly get in people's faces, that goes to BY folk and PC folk.
 
PC fans have to chill the f8k out now. I understand the excitement but there is no need to come to Connecticut's fan board with crappy comments. Be a classy fanbase guys. best of luck

Memphis had their FF run vacated because Calipari is a cheater. One of the teams PC beat is X. You know those guys, right?

The AAC going forward has UCONN...the BE is the BE.
 
I watched Cal Poly beat CSU Northridge for their first NCAA bid yesterday, just after Providence won their auto-bid...and couldn't help but think what a great set up college hoops tourneys are allowing such mid majors get a shot at the Big Dance.
 
I consider myself very lucky too. Being able to watch the BET. Isn't Chicago one of the few markets that actually broadcasts fox sports net?
