Prognosticators Tournament Game 7 (NC State) Predictions

I seen NCState having a lot of trouble scoring and UConn having a little less trouble.

UConn 68 NCState 60, MoV 8
 
NC State is a number 1 seed for a reason. They are a championship team, ACC conference champ. But UConn has most of their injured players back and plays with great coordination and chemistry. UConn deep bench better guard play will be the difference. Not counting Elissa Cunane, Kendal Moore and Raina Perez out. This is for the FF and homecoming for our PB, IMHO UConn 75 NC State 55
 
I think UConn’s defense and depth will wear down NC State. If UConn is hitting some outside shots and killing all the bunnies, they should win. Massey shows UConn wins by 2.

UConn 76 - NC State 65
 
It's interesting. Some were upset that we weren't the #1 seed. In the end if UConn were #1 and NCState were #2, we'd still end up with the same game. Hopefully having to play slightly higher seeds as prepared us better. We'll see.

This one will be tough. Notre Dame had been scoring at a high rate and NCSt held them to 63. I expect a more difficult ability to score in this game. Our defense will continue playing at a high level. Not as low scoring as the UCF game but just as close.

UConn's team is longer than the Pack's...

Seven of the eight NC State guards are 5'9 or under...5'4..5'5...5'6...5'6...5'8...5'9...5'9...6'0

And UConn's 6'5 forwards are taller than the 6'1 and 6'2 Forwards of NC State....Maybe the Pack will play one of their two 6'5 Centers at Forward.

The two teams have met twice in the NCAAT since the Summer Erb years, with UCONN winning both times: 2003 and 2007.
 
Tough one to predict...but aren't most of them.

On Saturday Massey had it at 66 - 66 using the match up function.
Today Massey has UConn 66, NCST 64...
Pretty much close as it can be, ...

I am going with:

UConn: 69
NCST: 60

A nail bighter. Uconn 72-68. To win they'll have to make the free throws in the closing minutes.

It will be a tight game. Could easily go either way. If AE and ONO have a productive game like yesterday (with some help from Dorka of course) I like their chances. If we get a few more long range shots to drop they could be golden. If not we may not like the results.

UConn 71, NC State 60
 
Wolves vs Huskies. Always go with the ancestors.

NC State 73-67.
 
I expect NC St guards to be tough defensively. I think it will come down to limiting turnovers and easy baskets for NC St. I think we will limit TOs and win a close defensive battle, UConn 65-61.
 
It should be a hard fought game for both teams…a nail biter..just hope UCONN is on the winning end…score doesn’t matter to me ..a win by one point is a WIN…I will be going to Minneapolis I sure hope I bring my team with me.

UConn will score a lot of points in the paint with the combo of Liv, Dorka and AE vs Cunane ... plus Caroline and Paige posting up their tiny guards, giving Conn a MOV of 15 (or so) points ... UConn 70 - NCS 55
 
Have been waiting for UConn offense to catch up to its defense. It starts against NC State. Outside shooting gets back in gear as Azzi and Paige iron out the kinks from the last game. Dorka adds to the scoresheet this time.

84-65 as they allow a team to score more than 60 after a long while.
 
Huskies get off to a better start. Our seniors are showing determination that we haven't had in a while. Our guards spread the floor well and make some early threes.
