Premium Ways the B12 Can Die in a Fire Thread

This popped up on Rotoworld, of all places:

"The Dallas Morning News' Chuck Carlton reports that no school being considered for Big 12 expansion has drawn the required eight votes to join the conference.

While Carlton relayed that the Big 12 has yet to truly settle on its expansion targets yet, he additionally noted that "in-depth discussions and inevitable horse trading haven't really begun yet." He is also hearing that a football-only invite to the conference is unlikely, with a source telling him, "Nobody wants it." Last week, it was reported that BYU would consider joining the Big 12 on a football-only basis, but if Carlton's source is on-point, that might no longer be a realistic possibility. Aug. 4 - 12:16 pm ET"

If UConn has a relationship with ESPN it's certainly been abusive
In fact Women's basketball essentially generates zero revenues ,even though they are a regular prime time participant
That sounds like a women's rights violation ,maybe somebody should point this out to Hillary. Or better yet point it out to ESPN first.

You are about to have an abusive relationship with an internet message board.

Video presentations by schools to Big 12's Bob Bowlsby should run a couple of hours each. Told at least 14 schools. ESPN reported 17 today.

The 14 have all publicly expressed interest. If there are 17, it could be from a group of San Diego St, UNLV, N. Illinois and Fresno St.

Told that 12 or 14 both remain options for conference, zero far less likely. Fourteen means more $$$$, bigger footprint, more stability.

Told 12 is a safe middle ground and means that Big 12 feels reasonably confident about its future and possible new media interest come 2024.

What I'm hearing on Big 12 expansion: the timetable (subject to change) is mid September to early October.

Not expanding would be a PR disaster after public announcement. Only reasons not to: if huge TV extension in works or lack of consensus.

Why all the presentations? Told Big 12 feels if school expressed interest, deserves chance to make a case. Could help schools on bubble.
