Kid already looks the part of a high-level NBA defender. Just needs to learn some more perimeter skills on offense. Switching 3-4 and defending 2-5 could at UConn could be a great place to do that

Couple inch taller Paul Millsap clone, maybe?

No I don't like Millsap--he's got no hops. Any ideas on a comp if Precious reaches his potential?

He looks significantly better than Rudy Gay at the same age.

That is some aggressive and powerful playing right there. Very hard to stop. 6'9, strong and athletic, excellent length, with skills. Can pull up and shoot. This is impressive even with the light defense.

Precious is an impact player, game changer, a tough matchup for most defenders. Tremendous recruit if we can sign him.

Diallo PT2? If this kid ends up at Kentucky, we need to take out the squid.

Rudy was really explosive and could jump.
The comparison is fair. Very similar players stylistically. Amazing that Achiuwa has only been playing basketball for 4-5 years.

BasketballRecruiting.Rivals.com - NBPA Top 100: Precious Achiuwa in no rush with recruitment

UConn: “They are just telling me how he could help get my game to the next level. He (Dan Hurley) coached at my high school so there is a relationship there, with the school, St. Benedict’s, and he has been telling me how he could help me get to the next level and how he could prepare me for it.”
Based on how he described UConn and St Johns I like our chances. Basically saying "UConn can help me get to the next level. And St John's exists too!"

Strange when juxtaposed with Jerry's report earlier.

I forget who provided it.
That was me. I'm thinking Jerry hadn't seen Achiuwa for a while and just caught him on a bad day. Also Achiuwa said this in that Rivals article too, so clear he wasn't going as hard as he could've: “The first session and second sessions of UA, I went back and watched a couple films and I figured I could go a little harder. I think I turned up the switch a little harder but I could probably could even more,” he said regarding his hard-playing week at the NBPA Top 100 Camp. “I am just coming out here and having fun, showing everybody what I can do. Just on the ball and off of the ball, showing how my game has improved from earlier in the AAU season up until now.”
