They noted that Duke and KY weren't in it and felt no need to hurry.Did UNC just miss out on another target? Surprised it took this long.
he's mentioned them a few times in the past. I think he's friends with either someone on the team or a 2019 commitMemphis? Really?
He would obviously be a nice get, but regardless I still see a bright future at the wing position with Polley and Sid.
These are the types of facilities you are going up against when you compete with a UNC on the trail. This is why the competition of werth is so important.
The fact that he's a program changing recruit is why he is a longshot. If it was easy/normal to get a program changing recruit, there'd be a lot more programs turning around.Quite surprised by the reactions here. When we were thought to be leading, he was seen as a program-changing recruit. Now he's just a "longshot" that "would have been nice to get"? I know it's the boneyard at all. But this is just example #5,781 that our life SUCKS right now. And no amount of dismissiveness or rationalization can change that.
This would be worse than Hamidou because unlike KO, Hurley actually has a clue. Life as a mid-major is just not fun.
Already having a top twenty recruiting class with a good possibility of a top ten class with a Kofi commit reduces a lot of pain. I suggest you drink lots of champagne and get a happier feeling to bring in the new year.Quite surprised by the reactions here. Bynum and that's about it but don't want to spoil uconngb's narrative.I mean did UConn ever beat UNC in recruiting battles even when Calhoun was here? It’s just one of those schools that have an advantage.
...who never even showed up on campus anyway....Bynum and that's about it but don't want to spoil uconngb's narrative.
My "narrative"?? When people thought he was ours, it was going to propel us back to the halcyon days and show we were back. Now that it looks like he's going elsewhere it's just "eh, we never had a chance anyhow". I get that logic when it was under the KO regime, but why is it acceptable now??Bynum and that's about it but don't want to spoil uconngb's narrative.
Been saying it the whole time but it doesn't need to be said, consensus top 10 recruits are going to have the biggest of the big boys after them. Achiuwa was always a luxury recruit and not a necessity.
That was Clyde Vaughn on a recruiting roll. Bigs just loved the guy.Bynum and that's about it but don't want to spoil uconngb's narrative.
Maybe because folks placed the "master recruiter" hat on Dan Hurley's head before he even started to recruit in a ultra competitive environment - this aint Wagner or URIMy "narrative"?? We don't nor do we want to stoop that low. If the kid picks UNC and the thought of beneifiting from fake classes even crosses his mind as a reason to go to UNC not the kid for UConn and I know at least some will disagree or be mad at me for saying that but we need talented kids who can also hit the books considering Uconns apr history (fair or not, hint: not fair) and who's at the helm of the NCAA currently. I'll cheer for UConn to pick up a slightly less talented kid with study habits like oakfor rather than a kid who struggles with studies even if he is a little more talented, don't care. But again, UConn kind of has to considering that guy whose name starts with an E. Football is different but for bball don't need to sacrifice academics when recruiting imo. Last thing UConn needs is a Shaq from blue chips type thing with SATs. Don't remember who shaq played in that movie. How do you compete with fake classes?
Yeah 11th on ESPNMaybe because folks placed the "master recruiter" hat on Dan Hurley's head before he even started to recruit in a ultra competitive environment - this aint Wagner or URI
A lot of digs at KO but lets see what this staff can do with the big boys. I read someone say UConn has a top 20 recruiting class right now - that's great and I really hope this staff does that every year but there are a lot of non committed 5* and 4* out there and one or two will make any programs class ranking surge.
Let's get a really nice big before we start crowing
I think things will be OK going forward
